Athlon 64 ECC Support

I am considering an Athlon 64 for a workstation/home-office/night-gaming machine.

As a microISV, ECC memory has helped me keep my sanity over the years.

Does the Athlon 64 on-die memory controller actually detect and correct
parity errors in ECC ram, or does Athlon 64 simply allow you to use ECC
memory as regular memory?

Only skt940 supports regestered/ECC ram, but you really don't need it these days.
