no, you don't need a driver for your cpu. you might have that confused with motherboard bios. sometimes when you install a new cpu, your mobo will not recognize it at the proper speed. usually a motherboard bios update (flash) cures this - it did in my build anyway.

go to your motherboard's website or consult the manual for further details, and good luck!

there is a msoft patch for the AMD64bit cpu -
amdk8
which enables POWERNOW and Cool/n quiet
but i wouldn't think you would need it for your setup.
