Athlon 64 driver

Do I have to install the Athlon 64 driver (its 4 GB!) that came on the motherboard cd of drivers?

I'm not sure where you got the 4GB number, you might want to check that again.

In anycase, yes, install your drivers that the manufacturer provides.

Well, I installed it before, and I'm pretty sure that the add/remove programs listing was something like 4,000 MB. I then formatted, because of driver trouble, and that leads me to the question. I am wondering this because the motherboard manual says nothing about installing the processor drivers.

There's no way that Athlon64(?) drivers are 4gb, but yes, you need to install the Drivers needed by your motherboard.

Maybe I read it wrong (No! I'm illiterate!). Ok, I'll install it then.

It saves power when your CPU's not doing much by clock throttling to 0.8ghz, so yeah its worth it.

It's 4.25 MB, not 4 GB.
