Athlon 64 Chips

I currently have an Amd Athlon 64 3200 socket 754 chip and Msi K8T Neo Fisr 2 motherboard.
I'm looking at a 939 pin 3500 and Msi K8T Neo2 motherboard. Both chips are 2.2 gig with 512 L2
cache. Other than dual channel memory and higher cpu upgrade ability are there any other
reasons to switch. Both motherboards have all the specs I need as far as sound, sata ect...
Will I gain anything else with this upgrade ? Any advice would be helpfull. Should I stick
with what I have or upgrade.

you should stick iwth your current setup for now. it is perfectly fine for everything now. since you are willing to upgrade to the newer socket, i say wait and upgrade later one when all the new technology and chipset(s) mature. 🙂

Personally i would wait for 939 Nforce4 SLI to mature, and then go for the NEO4 Platinum and your choice of CPU.

But, this is coming from the person who bought the Neo2 and a 3200 Winchester mid december because he couldnt wait for SLI himself...lol

You don't need to upgrade for quite a while. Hold off and then make a big upgrade (CPU/board + video) when it's necessary (which won't be for a while).
