Athlon 64 3500+ OC?

Since the discussions on the forum has led me to believe that the 3000+ (90 nm) seems to be the best overclocker (percentagewise) compared to the 3200+ (90 nm), I was curious if the 3500+ (90 nm)overclocks well or not at all compared to the other ones.

If you have a 3500+ (90 nm), please post your speeds in explicit detail (ie. FSB*multi) and the method of cooling used. Maybe we can get a better idea about which can overclock the best percentagewise compared to stock clock speed (3000+ or 3200+ or 3500+).

I run 225 x 11 (2.475 w/ 1.450 vcore) mem(2.8volts) @ 1:1 DDR 450 2.5-3-3-6 HTT x4 and Prime95 stable (idle=35C load=43-47C) >< I RAN 285 x 9 (2.565 w/ 1.50vcore) mem(2.8volts) @ 166 2.5-4-4-10 HTT x3 for weeks (idle=38C load=48-50C), but those settings would fail Prime within the hour. I'm on air with low cfm/dba Silenx fans & Swiftech mx6400 HSF. My sys is inaudible. With some high CFM fans I feel I could achieve better oc's although my A8V is NOT the best oc'er.

The highest stable oc I can manage is 250x10 @1.475V. That is with 4xHTT and 2-2-2-10 timings. I have to use a divider to achieve that as my mobo doesn't like my ram too much. Cooling method is in my sig.

Where are all the people with 2.7 GHz on air that I've heard about? BTW- could you guys include purchase dates on your CPUs since some people believe that earlier chips may not have the same headroom as the later produced chips.

best prime stable 2.607 1.525V 237X11 mem 1:1 2-3-2-5 35c-47c (ruffly on temp I didn't write it down)TCCD Got to love it!
3dMark03 looping stable 2.706 1.6V 246X11 mem 1:1 2.5-3-3-6 38c-52c if I remember
Right now I'm not O/C why? I am checking max Ram spped and timing figuring out what it can do. Once I'm done with thatI'll move on and start O/C again. I'm sure that I can hit 2.7 stable it will just take a little time.
Stock HSF Stock thermo paste Purchased 11-28-04 Retail Price $272.00 ZZF. I missed a number on the CPU before I installed it but believe it is week 44
I also Think that JBDan is right A8V is not the best O/Cer out there but I think that they all have there Probloms.
On the upside the 3500+ .09nm just Hauls at stock.

Purchase date was around Nov 10 2004 and YES sparky it does "Haul" at stock! 😉

Geez how do all you get these low timings? My pc kerplunks after 220 x 11 mem 1:1 2-3-2-6. I can only run 2-2-2-5 at 210FSB @ 1:1 or lower. Dang! I have the same RAM as Spark

Ask them at what speed they are running it 😉

lol yea i guess i shoulda done that 🙂

I got mine in late October. Just reached 2607 last night and it's been stable so far. Here's my settings:
HT Frequency: 4x
CPU Ratio: 11
CPU FSB: 237
CPU VID: 1.500
CPU Voltage: Over VID 5.0%
Memory Voltage: 2.65V
DRAM Memclock: 166MHz
Timings: 3-4-4-10-1T

I'm happy with this overclock for now since it's FX55 speed. My next step is to get it stable at lower voltages and to see if I can get the memory timings any tighter.

I managed to get the following overclocks;

AMD System - AMD64 3500+ S939, 1GB of OCZ PC3200 Platinum Rev2, Sapphire X800XT-PE.
CPU HTT: 238 = 2.618MHz effective clock.
CPU Multiplier: 11x
VCore Rating: 1.5V
VDimm Rating: 2.9V
Memory FSB: 238
Memory Timing: CL2-2-2-5 ~DDR450
HTT:RAM: 1:1
Video Clock: 538/560 effective on air, using Arctic Silencer 4.
Prime95 tests proved all stable. Running on air using a Zalman 7000-Series HSF @ full speed of ~4200RPM.

P95 stable
24C Idle - 28C Load

CPU: 2700MHz
HTT: 270
CPU Multiplier: 10x
VCore: 1.8v
VDimm: 3.0v
Chipset: 1.8v
LDT Bus: 1.4v
Memory: 202MHz(3:4mem divider)
Memory Timing: CL2.5-4-4-10 ~DDR400
HTT/LDT: 4X

I don't remember my highest OC, but my best (in terms of voltage to OC) is 2.625 @ ~1.5v.

250fsb x 10.5, HTT @ 4x
Memory set to 1:1, 2.85v, 2.5-3-3-8

~35 idle, ~48 load

EDIT: Video card is 6800GT @ 400/1100, temps are ~45 idle, ~60 load, NV Silencer 5

I run my 3500+ at 260 x 10 (2.6 w/ 1.470 vcore) mem(2.7volts) @ 1:1 2.5-3-3-6 HTT x4

idle temp is 32-35C and load temp is 42-48C

WInchester 3500
HTT: 250
CPU multi: 10
HT: 4
RAM: 1:1 2-2-2-8 @3.4 volts going to push for 260 in a few days, it is still burning in.
VCore: 1.5 + 5.5% (CPUZ says 1.55 volts)

I will be shooting for 2.6 but I think i will set up water cooling first.

29C idle 42-52C load.

show me a screen shot of that

Not a 90nm, but 10 x 250 > 2500mhz > 1.6 Volts (yes, little high)..mem 1 : 1

cooling, Zalman 7700Cu , one big cooler lol..weighs 980 grams

AMD64 3500+ (newcastle) @ 2.45

VDimm Rating: 2.7V
Memory FSB: 245
Memory Timing: CL 2-3-3-10
HTT:RAM: 1:1

Ram/mb can handle much more but the cpu can't =(
