I plan to get an Athlon 64 3200+ Winchester and an MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum. I was hoping to get some PC3200 RAM with it, but that would be too expensive for me at the moment. I currently have a gig of Apacer PC2700 RAM (2.5-3-3-7). How much of a performance decrease would there be. I did a search and could only find that "it will work", but there was no info as to how much using PC2700 RAM will affect performance. Will the 3200+ still run at 2.0GHz (10x200 bus with PC3200; 12x166 bus) or will it run at 1.6GHz (10x166 bus with PC2700)? Would it be best to just wait for the money to get the PC3200?

Thanks in advance.

use the 2700 now, but get some ddr500 ram later if possible, then overclock it all to hell like i did :D lol, but i dont think you would notice a HUGE difference, use it now and see if it works out, and buy better stuff later.
