What would be a better buy for someone who does not plan on over clocking at all. The Athlon 64 3200+ or the 3500+? Both 90nm. I can get the 3200+ for about $130 cheaper. Also since I will not be over clocking what memory would be the best? I want at least 1GB. thanks By the way most of the gaming I do is sports games like Madden and Racing games. Wouild I be better off with P4 3.4G? See what I do on my pc is Surf the net, Love to play sports games in High rez, watch and burn dvd movies, listen to music stuff like that. And I also will be getting a PCI express board.

First for memory PC-3200 memory is what you want. Of course the 3500 would be the better choice but it is up to you on how much you are willing to spend. I would say the A64 would be a better choice then the P4 3.4. As for the board then you should look at a Nforce 4.

If you do a lot of multitasking the P4 3.4 'may' be your better choice as it does better with that if you like to listen to music/play a game/burn a dvd all at the same time.

Other than that best thing to get is A64.

Why would you pay 90% more money for 5% more performance? get the 3200 if no overclocking.

I can't recommend Intel at this time. The coolness and future makes A64 top dawg. Get the cheapest PC3200 newegg sells.

I think the amount the will overclock is really based on luck. Im guessing you could get a 3200 that will oc to 2.7, or you could get one that only does 2.4, and same thing goes for the 3500.

3200+ for a much better price/results relation.

For the price of a 3500+, I bought a MSI Neo2 Platinum + a 3000+ !!!!

All three Winchesters reach about the same speeds; 2.6 isn't unusual. I doubt the 3500+ will yield a higher overall clockspeed; you'll just be able to do it with less overclocking of the HTT.
