athlon 64 3000+ thermal pad

Well, I figured I would shoot this question out here quickly since I don't have much time.

I have received my comp parts at home, this is my first build.

I've read that the athlon 64 3000 939 has a thermal pad.... is this in place of thermal paste? Or will I need thermal paste too? Or is my information wrong?

Thanks for any help, just wanted to make sure I got some on my way home from work if I need it.

If you use the thermal pad, you will NOT need thermal paste. It's one or the other, not both

No paste needed, just slap the stock heatsink on.

yeah, just make sure to wipe off the thermal pad with alcohol whenever u gonna change the Heatsink
