Athlon 64 3000 only showing up as 800mhz

When I try to run KOTOR on my Athlon 64 3000 it says my CPU speed is only 800mhz... it says the same thing when I check in the control panel, so what gives?

You need to go into your BIOS setup and change your CPU values so it runs it at full speed. F2 and DEL are common keys to tap right after powering on.

The BIOS seems all locked so I can't change any of the values... I have an HP Pavillion zv5000

Read this thread, starting at the third post down. You'll see that your pc/notebook defaults to running at a lower speed until you do something requiring extra power. It's a power-saving feature. If you want it at full power all the time, it's a simple fix.
