I have an AX8 v2 mobo socket 939 and 4800 X2 cpu. It OC's fine until I adjust the CPU multiplier at which point the 2nd core disappears - only to return when I set the CPU multiplier back to its default.

Anybody else experiencing a missing core?

My guess is only one of the cores can handle the overclock, while the other core can't. I don't think the 4800 have that much headroom for overclocking anyway, so as soon as you start bumping the multiplier, you're probably pushing the chips too hard.

But I still lose a core even if I reduce the multiplier and leave everything else at stock and therfore underclocking the CPU. Any adjustmentof the multiplier, whether to underclock or overclock, results in a core disappearing. Tried BIOS updates and dual core optimiser but with no success
