Athlon 2700+ clocked at 2100+... here's how to fix it!

AMD Athlon XP 2700+ retail
MSI KT4 Ultra motherboard
Crucial 512MB PC2700 DDR333

What are the clock ratios supposed to be at? I have the CPU's FSB set at 133MHz, and I'm using DDR333. The BIOS recognizes the memory capacity and speed fine (AUTO), but the CPU is just clocked at 1736MHz instead of 2176MHz (or thereabouts). I have it set to AUTO as well, but it's not picking up the correct speed. I didn't check the chip when putting it in, but it came out of a sealed AMD retail box- doubt I got a 2100+ chip instead. This is AMI BIOS. Please help! Thanks in advance, folks.

The fix: set the CPU's FSB to 166MHz, dummy!

xp2700+ and above have 166mhz fsb, if the mainboard doesn't agree with this either it doesn't support 166mhz fsb or maybe you need a bios upgrade...

Yay! The switch to 166MHz did the trick- I blame my ignorance. Thank you very much, and you too, motoamd. :D

EDIT: GOOD LORD THIS THING IS FAST!! :Q
