its a 1.1ghz 200 bus palamino. probably could o/c it to 1500mhz easily. 1.6 volts and thermal disappation of only 35 watts.

Seems to me a very good choice for those people who are trying to build a flex atx system in those netvista cases (LIKE ME). Thanx!

These are used, and could be an older stepping. About 34.80 shipped for me, after the 10% discount.

I think these low power chips are 1700XP chips with the fsb dropped from 133 to 100 Mhz (1467 Mhz to 1100 Mhz). With a good stepping, good cooling, and a bump in the vcore you might get 1700 Mhz (XP 2100 speeds). Very temped to buy, but I'll pass on this deal. Recently got a newer Tbred "B" ($50 or less delivered) which does 2Ghz on air.

If any overclockers go for this, please let us know what you can get from your chip.

the netvista case will eventually go in my van, and those cases have a very small power supply so this processor should do just the trick.

If you want a SFF computer and your thinking around 1.1ghz go with the Taultaian Celerons! They are pretty cheap and they run super cool, my 1.2ghz Celly is running fine under a crappy U1 heatsync, and my temps are just slightly above 100F, a custom built case with very little room and a video card sitting next to the CPU.

Not to mention that according to the sandra scores, it specs almost 95% of the 1.2ghz athlon (non XP).

They are *REALLY* small cases with like a 150w power supply.
Look over at egay and search for "netvista case". They're cheap, but REALLY hard to find a mobo for. I just scored an MSI (MS-6353) nforce flex-atx from there last night. ECS makes one (it sucks) and gateway ones are flooded there... I was going to try the s370 adapter to put in a tualitin celeron 1.2 and realized the ECS board isn't laid out right at all. (none of the wires will reach and no sound output (wtf!?)) The small size of the case make them great for a car or a homemade tivo setup.
I hope that clears it up. :)

Which ECS Board did you look at? I use a K7SEM (MicroATX) board with the built in sound/video/lan and it works great for my van. The case I have it in is about the same size as the Netvista. BTW...I use a Duron 1200 with this board and the only problems I run into is the temp runs about 120+ sometimes.

It was the ECS P6STP-FN I think..... It comes with a wireless keyboard and an IR receiver that plugs into the board... This board is a real flex atx mobo and it just fit in that case... None of the wires were long enough; of course I didn't notice this until I already bought an extension for the atx power supply cables. I'd be nervous to try any micro-atx in it. I think I'll get by with that MSI one with this SFF processor..I only got the ECS one first cuz I'm a big ECS slappy (owner of many K7S5As) :)

It won't be anything fancy here. I'm getting a small lcd panel, mounting it to the dash somewhere and sticking the cpu under or behind the seat. It's a work van and I needed mapping software and games/dvds when I'm bored. :)

Not quite done here; still a lot more modifications to do. I have to figure out how to mount my 15" LCD Panel in the spot where the stereo goes. Was gonna use sheet metal, but I think I need something more stable than just building it myself. But, in case ya want to know I have a 92 Astro that was a work van, but I carpeted the back and have it all cleared out to haul my bike, gas, and tools for those weekend rides. I have also run into the problem of have my computer so close to my sub. Needless to say, I have to work out a lot of kinks. I am pretty sure I will buy a new car or SUV and put all of this stuff in there. Anyone have any suggestions on what car, SUV, van I should use?

Wouldn't the vibrations, heat and cold be absolutely murder on a computer in a van? I can't imagine that it would last very long.

So what case did you use? I wish there was some good guides to small cases out there. If anyone knows of any sources, please share! :)

I have a hollowed out part in my couch that the computer sets to help with the vibration problems.

It was hard to find the right case, but from the local wholesale computer guy I found the perfect case. He gets most of his stuff shipped from Taiwan with cheap CodeGen Power Supplies in them. It is about the size of the old Compaq cases that they sold a few years back. If I find anyplace good online, I will let you guys know.
If I had to do it all over again, I would have used Mini-ITX. It has EVERYTHING built in on the board!
