You must find it difficult to make friends then?
I don't think anyone claims to know for sure about anything. We're getting into semantics here but you can't even be sure what you did today you really did and it wasn't just a very well defined deam or hallucination. But I'll bet you're pretty sure it was real.
Anything we "know" in science, unlike what is "known" in religion, is up for modification. If sound evidence or theories seem to be pointing in a different direction, science slowly begins to move in that direction. At any given point, it is not entirely correct, but it is as accurate as possible given what we know.
There is evidence that supports a scenerio not unlike darwin's evolution. It's not just something that someone pulled out of a hat and wrote a few papers on and found a billion cultust followers to start "believing" in. It makes sense. It could be completely wrong. It could be a bit off. But right now, it makes sense.
And so I don't see how you can so severely critisize anyone who believes in this. You could disagree. But I don't walk around saying that people who believe in God are idiots. Sometimes I have that feeling about organized religion. But in terms of personal feelings, I too on some days believe that there is a God. (I voted Atheist, though, because that is usually the case.)
You know what I thought about the second choice in this poll? I didn't think "gee, whoever votes that is such an idiot, look how obvious evolution is" I thought instead "that's neat, I wonder what they think and if they will share it in this thread"
