China is stuck at 10 gold medals! It been stuck for couple days.

Stuck only for today. 1st day 4 gold, 2nd day 1, 3rd day 5, today 0. I am not sure this year China can match 2000 sydney's performance of 28 golds, 59 total. Chinese traditionally stong items like men's gymnastics and badminton already suffered serious setback.

I always joke with my GF when we see the Chinese perform. When they screw up, I say, "well, they're probably shooting his/her parents as we speak."

:laugh:

does she laugh at your dumb jokes?

Yep.

And she can understand basic things like how gays have sex and that metal and gems are natural resources.

But then, she's smart like that.

lol, you remember all my posts! I bet she's smarter than you. btw, I never said metals and gems are not natrual resources, they're just not useful as basic ones such as food, water, oil, steel. Also, I still think your statement that "many african countries have more resources oper capita than US and canada" is pure bs.

Africa has far fewer people per square mile than the US. It is also a vast, largely untapped source of natural resources. Combine those two, and yes, per capita Africa has more natural resources than the US.

And yes, I remember your posts because remarkable things stick in my mind.

Unless you can provide some links to real scientific facts, I'll take that as your speculation. Since you're the knowledgable one, how do gays have sex? in a gay couple, is there differential roles as to what they do in bed or do both do the same things in turn?

By the end of these games the US will leave China in it's wake.

the usa fvcked up bad in the shot put. they had a chance to sweep the event and only got a silver. 🙁

btw, does anyone have a nbc complete tv schedule. like one that says exactly what they will (such as which events) instead of just stating say "track and field" ?

Not as bad as the Chinses fscked up in Gymnastics, events where they were expected to medal.

it's a bit ridiculous to compare countries with population numbers that are so different IMHO

a better way would be the number of medals in relation with the population of a country

US = 29 medals
population=293 million
1 medal for every 10 million Americans

china=22 medals
population=1298 million
1 medal for every 59 million Chinese

EU-15=55 medals
population=381 million
1 medal for every 7 million Europeans

The Netherlands is very impressive
population=16 million
medals=9
1 medal for every 1,7 million pothead :shocked: (j/k)

Australia=16 medals
population=19 million
1 medal for every 1,2 million Australians :shocked:

etc.....

Yes, I'm bored at work 😉

Ok if you are saying it is ridiculous to compare countries with different populations, then it is also ridiculous to compare wealthier nations to poorer nations. After all the wealthy nations has access to first class gyms, equipments, trainers, supplements, etc. which gives the atheletes from those nations an advantage, just like a more populous nation holds a natural advantage over the smaller ones because they can select from a larger gene pool.

What I am trying to say is, there is no single solution to medal counts, there are way too many factors you have to account for to accurately measure a country's ability to produce atheletes.

true and there are many other factors

another example is the fact that lot of the medal winning non-US athletes are training and living in the USA (college etc...)

Rank...... Country.... Gold.... Silver.... Bronze.... Total
1 ..............U.S.......... 14....... 11........ 10........... 35
2 .............China.........14........ 9.......... 6........... 29

"owned" my ass. 😛

ok now what are people going to complain about. the gold amounts are tied and the US has way MORE golds.

heh
