So, now that we can return to this topic after the mass god and atheist thread barrage...

I call upon you, my friendly heathens.

What say you, in regards to language use. Do you continue to use common language idioms that make reference to theistic notions such as god and his powers?

Phrases such as:
Thank god!
Goddammit
Holy shit
Dear lord!
[god] bless you
oh thank the lord!
Oh god... o god o god o god
and so on...

Do you still use these phrases, or have you discovered some other readily understood word combination that describes the same point you wish to make at that time?
I have found this topic confuses some people who know I lack theistic beliefs. They say, "oh why do you say "xxxx" if you don't believe? I knew you believed in god." And I have to reply, "no, I simply use those phrases because that are common language, and know of no other way to quickly make the same point or exclamation."

I use them mostly for humor. Dear Lord is a personal favorite followed closely by HOLY FUCKIN' SHIT!

Only the ones that use "his name in vane"

Such as "Fuck god"

And the more commonly used "GoddamnitFuckJesus"

For that reason I use "Thank god" when bad things happen... as a sarcasm. :p

I don't use goddamnit... just damn it and damn is neutral imo.

Holy can be neutral too, I see a bit of irony in "holy shit" which is why I like to use it.

You know this always makes me chuckle inside. Being a "religious" person myself when I hear someone say, "Oh my God!" who I know is an obvious God hater/non-believer it makes me laugh.

I encourage you to come up with alternative methods of communication so I can more easily spot you heathens out and rain brimstone upon your heads! Say oh my goodness gracious or something.

All references to a higher power are replaced with Science. e.g. Thank Science, Sciencedamnit, and so on.

Only blasphemers are christians that think Christmas is a Christian thing, let alone the fact jesus was not born in December.

I usually say, "Holy Vishnu!" instead of "Holy Christ!"
