Not really. It's called supporting your positive claim.

Right now, no evidence is known to exist that a god exists.

You are making the claim that one does. The burden of proof rests on the shoulders of those making the positive claim.

Prove your case.
Where have I made that claim?

This entire thread. If you don't believe, the purpose of every one of your posts in this thread is purely trolling. If you DO believe, the purpose of every one of your posts in this thread is misguided or ignorance.

Evidence is by definition limited to the barriers of a human's ability to perceive it. To make a determination of the existence (or nature) of God based on evidence makes about as much sense as a slug deciding whether to purchase a PS3 or an Xbox.

Not at all.

Why CAN'T there be evidence that we perceive? Why CAN'T god prove himself or show himself? Using the whole "we can't know" argument is stupid when referring to an all-powerful being.

So you're agreeing with me that I didn't make the claim. Ok. Thanks.

Your brain is evidence. You think it's more reasonable to believe that it evolved from some unknown self replicating molecule.

uhm, molecules aren't self replicating, I think you mean cells and they aren't the least bit unknown...

science motherfucker, do you speak it?

Since there's a literal planet-full of evidence to support evolution, I'd rather side with that which is irrefutable rather than just assume the God of the Gaps because I can't explain something.

Or, even worse, use the argument from complexity.

If you're about to say that the brain is far too complex to have evolved through natural selection, I'm going to reply that god would have to be infinitely more complex than the human brain which only leads to the god-defeating conclusion that god must then also have been created.

You fail. Repeatedly. Pretty sure that you have no fucking clue what you're talking about. Cells divide. Molecules don't "divide" lol.

You're speaking to the choir. I know that molecules don't self replicate but if you're an atheist you have to "believe" that they did. You should maybe fix your hair because my post flew right over your head.

No. No you don't.

Molecules do not replicate themselves. Molecules are not biological systems. They're compounds like oxygen, lead, mercury, uranium, etc. :sneaky:

You REALLY don't know what you're talking about.

Seriously, you MUST be trolling. No one is this monumentally stupid.

uhm, we know the mechanics that makes atoms combine into molecules, we also know what atoms are made off and so on and so on (to a certain point), what we don't know is exactly where all that matter came from and we don't presume to know so until evidence to the origin of matter arises. THAT is what's most reasonable, not merely pointing and screaming "magical sky fairy" did it.

Do you have any idea what this first self replicating molecule even was? No, how can you call it irrefutable?
Or, even worse, use the argument from complexity.
You're the one who believes this crap. I mean we're talking about a planet with not one living thing on it. Somehow there is this fortunate combination of chemicals that started to replicate. I don't know, RNA or some kind of clay or crystals or some other such nonsense started to make copies of itself.
If you're about to say that the brain is far too complex to have evolved through natural selection, I'm going to reply that god would have to be infinitely more complex than the human brain which only leads to the god-defeating conclusion that god must then also have been created.
I'm not going to claim that. I'm just going to point out the absurdity of your beliefs. I figure I might as well return the favor, right? Anyway your brain evolved from crystals or something which might lead one to say you have rocks in your head, but I won't say that.

You've just exposed yourself. You've just listed ELEMENTS. Molecules are built off of these elements. The DNA strand is called a molecule all the time. You don't even know the BASICS of chemistry and you're saying anything to do with it is irrefutable. LOL
You REALLY don't know what you're talking about.

You took my bait perfectly.

Note the emoticon in my post.

I knew you'd be too full of yourself not to reply to correct me.

This proves that you are nothing more than a fucking worthless troll.

...and thanks for making it so easy to discredit you

"We don't know, therefore, GOD DID IT" is called the God of the Gaps theory and it's easily destroyed.

I already have (along with several others in this thread), with every single reply destroying each and every argument you wield.
