I have RH7.2 with everything upgraded on it. KDE3 etc..
I will be buying a new hd and will need an ATA Controller card. I have found a spare controller card made by " Digital Research" and CMD chipset 0648-C01 ..
Linux supports more IDE and SCSI cards out of the box than any version of Windows...
Linux supports most all IDE cards... EXCEPT those that are the FAKE RAID cards..because the RAID is fake and really implemented in the windows drivers..which of course are not used in Linux..
The Promise cards are pretty well supported...and the 3ware cards are the absolute best..the are actually the BEST IDE cards you can get...but thats another story.
