Hi folks. I have a motherboard that supports ata 133 as well as a hard drive that does but it seems to be running only at ata100. i dont see a bios feature to turn it to 133. Any suggestiosn??

ATA133 is just marketing. It's not any faster than 100.

You may need to get the latest drivers, or possibly a bios upgrade.

It's also possible that you need to use the utilities from the drive mfr to turn on ATA133 in the drive.

What does the BIOS report during boot? If BIOS reports 100, then it's probably either the drive or your BIOS.

There is only one drive manufacuter that supports ata133 and that is maxtor, but as other said, it is not any faster either. At the time that support for 48bit addressing startes (ie over 137gb) maxtor tied there support of it into there ata133 marketing which made it a little easier to find drive, or motherboads. But nowadays it does not matter, all board will support the 48bit addressing(over 137gb). but there still is no performance benift from it
