ATA 100 Controller cards

How many are using an ATA 100 controller card and have you seen any noticeable system performance improvements?? (I should have added this one to my previous post, but it was getting kind of long...). Do any certain brands work better with the IBM Deskstar's??

Overall, I prefer the Promise ATA100 controller card. I trust in Promise's cards, as I've used their ATA/66 card in a previous system.

There are no noticible performance gains from using either ATA/66 or ATA/100. No drive can even sustain a 66 transfer rate, let alone 100. Although the initial burst speed may be greater, overall, ATA/100 is almost the same as ATA/66 - real-world performance wise.

I'm using a Promise Ultra100 controller ...and I have a MSI K7T PRO2-A w/T-bird 850mhz. Although the motherboard has onboard ATA100 support I just decided to use the controller since I bought it a month or two before I bought the new motherobard and chip. I noticed WIndows 2000 professional boots up faster using my promise controller but other than that there is no real difference in performance compared to the onboard ATA100 controller. Just for that reason I am using my IBM 75gxp hdd with the promise controller since having the computer boot up faster is better than nothing..~

Another vote for the Promise Ultra100 Controller. I still have an old BH6 so I needed it to move my IBM deskstar from UDMA/33 to UDMA/100....huge difference there.
