Looks like AT built a pretty kicking Xbox Beowulf cluster...but no Seti benchmarks? Anyone got the pull to call in a favor and have them run some Seti #'s on it?

Other projects that require constant CPU operation like folding@home and seti@home would be the best use for such a cluster;

maybe Anand will add it to our TeAm. 🙂

With current Xbox prices, these systems offer a wide range of options for usage! Let's see what a used Xbox sells for here.

Hmmmmm........I would suspect that you would get 3 SETI WU/day from one box at most. With 8 of them you get about 24. I pickeded up a Sempron 2500+mobo combo from Fry's for $69.99. It is averaging 7.92 WU/day. I had all the parts needed to get it and running except for a PS. But, I could still have picked up used parts that I need for less than one used Xbox with more than twice the SETI output.

It is a neat project, but I agree that it would have blown our soxes off if they had done the project in 2002 rather than today.
