Maybe with this buff my guild can get past Festergut. I don't mind getting by with a cheat mode, the loot is all the same and those that still want to do hardmode can do the heroic version (I don't think the buff is available in heroic).

Random Question...

Does anyone know of changes in the config.wtf file that improves game play?

I've heard of one where WoW can utilize all 4 cores, things like that

If you're using them do you see improvements? More of the relevant question, I can always google the settings but I want to know if anyone has RL experience and if it's worth it.

People are saying the buff is apparently active in heroic mode too... strange. I would have figured it would be active in normal then turned off in heroic. Blizzard will probably change that though.

Did you just call yourself a bad?

Ensidia already has a post up about whether they are going to use this buff in heroic or not this week.

Yes, I am a "bad". I only play about 20 hours a week. I raid with my main 3 nights a week, and collect frosties to sell off with my two other 80's for gold that I get from running daily dungeons and weekly raids. My guild still hasn't gotten past Festergut even though we finally reached the correct amount of dps last run to move forward (pre-buff). I took 9 months off from playing which is why the gear on my main is only so-so (625 imba).

This 5% buff will be enough to push my guild forward past some of the roadblocks that we've had. I really don't care that it takes a buff to get there, I'm only playing to see the high end content anyway.

with the buff we were able to 1 shot eveyrthing up to the Proffessor. wich we still have'nt got the hang of.

but man my RL pissed me off. we use SK and last week a 251 tank bracer droped. well i have a 264 bracer. SK was set to expire in 5 second of him showing the item in /raid (so you get 5 seconds to decide if you want the item or miss out). i asked to hold on so i can look what i had and the other tank had (if its a bigger upgrade we will pass for each other) but he gave it to me even afte ri looked and said PASS.

so it put me at the bottom of the list and a damn 251 shield droped sigh.

We finally killed the Blood Prince Council. Whether we could've done it with or without the buff... it's probably either way as we weren't pressed with the enrage timer, but I have no idea if anyone came so close to dying that the 5% increased healing or 5% increased HP kept them alive.

I got the boots though! Now I need to convince them to work on Valithria so I can get the gloves :p.

We had done Council pre-buff but it was a simple 1 shot for us last night. Our shaman finally got the OH fist.

That buff definately helps things out. We are still stuck on queen because of people not spreading during air phase like they should. I did manage to pull 14.4k HPS on two of the pulls...rest were between 13k and 14k. Resto druids are OP on that fight for sure.

My guild finally downed Festergut last night, ten seconds left until enrage. Boy everybody was pumped up in vent; this was after 3 fail attempts last night and numerous times the night before. Looks like that 5% was what it took to put us ahead.

Heheh talking with a co-worker this morning who plays on a different server and he had the same thing happen to him; they finally beat Festergut. It seems that the buff is "just enough" to help struggling guilds overcome some of the roadblocks.

My guild is somewhat behind since they started out as a solid ten man guild, then decided to expand to two ten mans, and finally 25 man. So equipment-wise many of my guild is somewhat lacking but we are making strides to improve our skill. We only raid 3 days a week, 3 hrs at a time, and if the raid takes too long we call it a night. So this buff was perfect for guilds like mine.

we do 2 nights a week at 3 hours on the 10 man icc. Then we do 1 night at 3 hours on 25 man.

the buff helped us down rotface. though we would have got him anyway. best attempt before the buff we got him down to 1200 hit points.

My guild is struggling to down LK in 10 man (two groups making it to him but since 10 man raids are not mandatory we get attendence issues) and hitting a wall at Queen. Maybe this buff will push us past that. We have 9/12 in 25 though. Hopefully, I'll get to see some LK either tonight or Monday. Only being obligated to make two raids a week is lovely, even if it is 5-6 hour raids.

Yea, my guild was pretty peaved that it worked in heroic, but with the insane amounts of health and damage hm lich king has it actually might be a soft gating mechanism.

C'mon now... your guild sounds a lot like mine, but we were able to kill Festergut before the buff :p. Albeit, it was rather close to the enrage timer, but we still did it. But, if you're anything like my guild, that means you won't kick the bads out.

Icecrown just seems so much easier now. It felt like healing a heroic for quite awhile. Killed all of plague this time and working on BQL. Gotta love it when people run away from you :p.

i got the BQL acheiv yesterday cause someone fucked up the bite order because "all you fucking warlocks look the same"

lol I just told them to organize the groups in 25-man by bite order.. the top priority people being in group 1, etc. That's a hell of a lot better than trying to create an order that people will forget.
