I play with U-Verse service, and it's pretty solid. I get the random DC from time to time (including vent so it's not just a server issue), but in general i don't have any issues with it.

Found this in case anyone is interested:

It basically changes the registry so in layman terms:

Before Leatrix Latency Fix is installed:
Server: "Ok computer, I just sent a data packet over to you, got it?"
Your computer: ...
Server: "Come on, answer me! I don't have all day!"
Your computer: ...
Server: "Ok, forget it, I've waited long enough, sending another one over! Got it?"
Your computer: "Yep, got that one, also got the one you sent before, thanks."
Server: "Well, why didn't you acknowledge the first one when I sent it? I was waiting ages!"
Your computer: "Sorry, I'm just trying to make the network more efficient by bundling the acknowledgements together in pairs."
Server: "Nevermind efficiency, this isn't a corporate domain you know. You do realise that the longer you take to acknowledge a packet, the more time I have to spend waiting around instead of sending more data?"
Your computer: "Well sorry but this is how I'm setup by default."

After Leatrix Latency Fix is installed:
Server: "Ok computer, I just sent a data packet over, got it?"
Your computer: "Yep, send the next!"
Server: "That was fast! Ok, here's another, got that?"
Your computer: "Yep, send the next!"
Server: "Wow! What an improvement! Now that's more like it! Much better than giving me the silent treatment so I am forced to wait for acknowledgement timeouts, isn't it?
Your computer: "Yep, it's certainly keeping me on my toes, thanks!"

I'll have to give this a try ... were you directing it at me?

Had a great time in ICC10 last night. It was our first trip. We have an extremely casual group of a few friends (will go like a month between raids sometimes). So I was happy to get up to Saurfang in a couple of hours.

Gunship was a blast. Saurfang is a very unique twist on the classic "DPS race" fight. We'll get it next time. Got him <5% before his health started to regen too fast. A single heroism would have secured that victory. And flasks. lol

the packet change wasn't really directed to anyone, your post reminded me I had that info, so I thought I'd share it with everyone

I've been using it for about 3 weeks now and my MS has dropped from about 260 to a consistent 80

lagaran is still terrible though

I've heard about this latency/ping fix but never tried it. I did however find that in raids like Onyxia, turning off your combat log makes a huge difference. I used to get disconnected during the whelps stage but hasn't happened again since turning off the combat log.

take your points of out Moonglow and Dreamstate, put them into 2/2 imp. MF and 1/5 genesis, and 3/3 imp. faerie fire. and find a talent point for clearcasting, it will make most of your aoe spells proc OOC.

also, get 4pc t9. its BIS until you get 4pc T10. and swap your +128 int trinket. int is not as good as crit or spellpower, not by far. if you're in raid, you will never run out of mana unless you really get unlucky with crit streaks.

also, if you're the only boomkin i'd suggest swapping your insect swarm glyph for the starfall glyph. 3% miss is a pretty big for tanks, unless they outgear whatever instance you're in. insect swarm is a small percentage of your dps, its only up for the buffs that you/your raid gets. your bread and butter spells are starfire, wrath, and moonfire. FF up for the hit and crit debuff, IS for the dmg/crit/hit debuff. imp MF will let your MF ticks crit a ton more.

Thanks for the advice. I'll check out these changes tonight.

After doing my three dailies last night went and starting working on the dk now that the talent specs seem settled after all the changes of the last couple of patches. Mainly need him to get a few more levels so I can max out his inscription. After redoing his talents I entered a furnace queue while doing some quest. Took about 45 minutes to get in. Several times I had an estimated time displaying, generally 15-20 minutes, but before the group was formed the time would go blank. Guestimating a couple people left queue and the system only gives a time when a certain number are available.

I did see that sack of goodies thing when I opened the lfg panel, anyone got one of those yet, contents any good?

Oh boy, it was fun to run with a real newb group. Now I may have been on an unholy dk and slightly op considered at the level (even though most others a level or two above me) but woot was the word. Maintained about 600dps and did just north of 60% damage for the group. 3 of the others were all from zul-jin and at least 2 of those were a raf pair. One of them kept asking to be buffed even though only buff class in the group was the priest. Priest died right before the final boss and one asked why she wasn't getting a rez. Warrior then went to leave the instance to guide her back. Ah it's been so many years since I can claim to being so naïve.

I don't know anything about a ping fix, but I did the graphics config file change from the last patch on my main computer and haven't received a single out of memory shutdown since.

It should be on a sticky in the wow tech support forum (albeit it didn't show up until a couple days after the patch went live) Basically it has you change a line in the config.txt file. My high performance computer would routinely get the crash which my average one would never. Since making the change I've run wow for up to 8 hours straight and haven't crashed once.

hey look soccerman you guys get free transfers off your POS server

We will be offering free character moves from select realms to assist in population balancing. The ability to move a character on the selected source realms will become available starting as soon as we can get them setup on Thursday, January 14 and end them on Thursday, January 28, at 2:00pm PST.

Auchindoun is an Eastern time zone realm in the Retaliation battlegroup, Anetheron is an Eastern time zone realm in the Stormstrike battlegroup, Agamaggan is a Central time zone realm in the Shadowburn battlegroup, and Farstriders is a Central time zone realm in the Emberstone battlegroup.

In the event that these realms meet our transfer goals before the scheduled end date, the transfers to or from any realm may be disabled. We highly recommend that if you are planning to transfer that you do so at your earliest convenience. No characters will be eligible for these free moves once the transfers have been closed.

You can begin your transfer by visiting the Character Move page located here: https://www.worldofwarcraft.com/account/character-move.html

Source A (PvP) - Arthas, Emerald Dream (RP-PvP), Illidan (Horde Only), Kel’thuzad, Mal'Ganis (Horde Only), Tichondrious, Warsong (Horde Only)

Destination A (PvP) - Agamaggan, Anetheron, Auchindoun

Source B (RP) - Moon Guard

IIRC, the bag of goodies is mostly trash. You can check wowhead or wowwiki for what drops from it. I've done 1 random, with a tank who thought he could aoe pull like you do at 80... he died several times, I shifted to bear when he did and we'd kill it, and he'd be the only dead one. He left after like 5 deaths.

lol nice, it's funny cause I played horde on both Illidan and Warsong, and both are so overpopulated it's crazy. I remember when the realm forums constantly had posts asking them to lock character creation, bout time they got transfers.

I doubt I'm geared enough for a top 50 guild soccer 😛

http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Mannoroth&cn=Moonzi

I screwed up. You need to change your spec to 11/0/60 because you have too much haste. GG me for reading the wrong line :/.

If you look here:
http://elitistjerks.com/f73/t86204-tree_healing_guide_progress/

The important section...

With [Improved Moonkin Form]or[Swift Retribution] + [Wrath of Air Totem] (8%)
NO [Celestial Focus] [Lifebloom]: 449 haste rating. All other spells: 856
[Celestial Focus] [Lifebloom]: 339 haste rating. All other spells: 735

It's, uh, not possible to have a 72.96% crit cap.

24% glancing blows + 4.8% crit depression = 28.8% hits will not be crits, no matter how much hit you have.

That means the best-case scenario is a 71.2% crit cap, and that's if you are white hit capped. You aren't, so your crit cap is even lower than that.

The reduction in critical strike chance is typically not factored in the crit cap, but if you want to include it, it would actually make my cap go up, not down. You're factoring it into the wrong part. The crit cap is supposed to refer to the amount of space available on the attack table for crit (and technically normal hit) to reside after glancing blows + miss + parry + dodge. The reduction in the actual amount of crit you have does nothing to affect that number at all, it simply reduces how effective your crit is.

Essentially, if I have a 70% crit cap and I'm at 70% (considering buffs + debuffs), you could say that I'm technically not crit capped because 4% of that is being ignored because I'm attacking a boss and I'm actually at 66% crit. So, if you want to include that number, you'd say my actual crit cap is 74%.

And yeah, I don't trust the haste values of the sim, I still gem AP, but at the same time, any combination that resulted in giving up my 2P T9 is going to hurt a lot more, and the helm was ~= my chest.

If you aren't wearing heroic cuirass of cruel intent (or whatever it's alliance equivalent is), you'll probably sim better replacing a piece other than your helm >_>

Yeah, I don't have any ilevel 258 hard mode gear, because we could never even kill beasts 🙁.

I actually started gemming AP or AP+Haste in an effort to try it out. The only thing I dislike is that Haste is not what I call a "blanket stat." On a fight with some AoE component, Fire Nova and Magma Totem get nothing from Haste excluding a slightly reduced GCD, but they both gain more power from AP and Crit. While haste may perform slightly better in stand-alone fights, we don't have that all the time.

I'm not really sure what to say about Haste's true EP value. I mean, if you consider my graph that I made before, you'll recall that it had terrible peaks that were literally showing insane EP values for literally the entire worth of a single Quick King's Amber. But what do we make of these peaks? Do we just ignore them? Do we attempt to take the average? Also, theoretically, those peaks should go away once we hit a 1s GCD for spells (since supposedly, that's what's causing the spikes).

I've been slowly replacing my AP Gems with Haste/Haste+AP over the last couple weeks. I have noticed an increase, but I can't tell if this is just the straight haste, or the improvements to my gear/rotation. I do know that I'm typically top 3 on most fights that don't require me to switch targets frequently.

Others have reported seeing about the same results doing straight Haste. It's possible that your increases are the latter and you may be hoping it's the prior since you put a bit of stock into it by switching your gems.

The Elem 264 Totem is sweet if you're throwing Flame Shock in your rotation. I played with it last night and the proc (stacking haste for each tick of Flame Shock) was pretty much up 100% of the time. Also, Black Bruise is a beast.. you'll rarely see the proc in short fights like heroics and some trash.. but on bosses, the thing is up constantly.

Every good Enhancement Shaman should be using flame shock 😉. But I'm still not sold on that totem. I might try and buy it next ICC25 and try it out on Saurfang to see what kind of numbers I get. I know the ilevel 245 totem doesn't have 100% uptime, so it will definitely get a benefit there.

My question is this.. WTF is the proc rate of the Rep Rings.. cause I got the Revered Ashen Verdict ring and I swear I never catch that thing procing.

I've heard people complain that it's kinda low.

It's a 1PPM with a 60s ICD

P.S. Fuck Rotface on 10m.. fuck it in the face.

The problem we have on Rotface is that people are reaaaaally bad with their adds.

I did a "ping fix" thing about 6 months ago. Took me from 110-130ms down to a very consistent 45-50ms.

Doesn't that ping fix screw up other things? I coulda swore I heard it was good for WoW but bad for downloading files.

What's this zone wide selectable ICC buff thing I'm hearing pieces about?

Eventually, you get a buff in certain wings that will provide more damage and such.

I'll be losing haste with the bracer from festergut 10 and ring from LDW 25 I'll be at 757 which is where I want to be ideally

least that's my thinking

Yeah we arent going anywhere tho, would take a lot of characters to move all our gold... 600k in bank and most of us have over 50k gold. Hopefully people do move tho.

Hey soccer, is there a server i can download your old first time kills, or do i have to go through Blood legion website which requires a password -_-?

Hey soccer, is there a server i can download your old first time kills, or do i have to go through Blood legion website which requires a password -_-?

Only way would be if your a member or they are on the front page... I can get you dl links to older kills back to 40 man naxx if you want.

heh we never let our g bank sit that high theres no reason, whenever it gets to 200k we send every raid member 2-4k

We use it to buy mats and whatnot off the ah, and repair bills once we start grinding shit again. Gold will disappear very fast when you grind bosses for 6 hours a day.

Woot, got my Pillars of Might made for my alt! Going to have the boots in a few days too 😛. My army of alts is akin to a room of Chinese gold farmers... except they farm me Emblems of Frost 😀.

so got into hos on my scrub, doing the rock guy fight after after the big kaboom it's only me and the pally tank left standing, guess the others all decided to have a chat together and nuked each other. guy must hit rather weak though as just us two took him down from a start of about 40% health.
