Yeah I can't do the crazy amount of alts thing anymore. Got burned out on it in MoP.

I had 1 of each class at 90 (w/ full transmog sets), plus an extra paladin, warlock, and priest. So far in WoD (and this is all I'm leveling), I've got priest/paladin/mage at 100, and a hunter at 92. I'm leaning toward just dropping the paladin from the rotation as I'm not finding it enjoyable anymore ... but then multistrikes proc and I have mini-almost-flashbacks to the SoC days...

I'm seeing the same problem with a few of my classes. There's just so little to watch during combat that it becomes kind of boring. I actually miss the fact that Stormstrike was an attack. By removing its attack component, that actually gives me one less ability to use for ranged pulling, which made leveling a bit annoying when it came to multi-mob pulls (gotta stymie those kill-stealers!).

WoW Stable at 10+ Million Subscribers
Blizzard had their Q4 2014 earnings call today, announcing that WoW was still at 10+ million subscribers at the end of 2014. This is the same as the mid November announcement that listed WoW at 10+ million subscribers.

Subscriber numbers are expected to decline, just like after the release of every other expansion. Asia is expected to have a larger decline, as subscriber numbers there are more fluid.
Hearthstone has over 25 million registered players
Heroes of the Storm has 9 million users registered for beta

I have several followers at level 100 now. How do I check their weapons? I have a few upgrade trinkets to use on them. Been running PVP a lot lately and its starting to get boring. Maybe its time to give it another break once the weather gets better outside...

If you go to the mission table and click on the follower tab it'll bring up all your followers. The column on the left will have a summary of their level and iLvl if they are 100 (can't give weapons and armor to followers that aren't level 100 so it won't show till then). If you click a follower to bring them up in the main page at the bottom it'll have a break down of their item level... like

iLvl 645
Weapon: 645
Armor: 645 ^

If you have any kits or upgrades this is where you would use them (by clicking on the up arrow next to the armor for example).

At the start I tend to upgrade based on what I need for current missions. When that first Highmaul mission pops, I'll gear the guys needed to complete that successfully. If one of them happens to be a green, so be it. But, I'll usually let it sit for a couple days to see if I can get a better combo. Epic followers are generally better bang for your buck though.

Just try and make sure you cover your bases as you upgrade. If 2/3rds of your epic followers have the same ability, upgrade one or two and then throw some love to the greens to cover more mission types.

If you have Master Plan, there's a tab at the bottom of your command table containing missions of interest. It has all of the really nice missions (like the Highmaul missions, the 500g mission, high resource missions) and picks the followers you currently have that would best complete them. You can then gear up those followers first so that they meet the gear requirements when the mission becomes available.

Should one only upgrade epic and legendary followers leaving greens alone?

I started out upgrading epic followers for what I needed on missions, simply because having two abilities is so valuable.

But if you have enough to gear your green and blue followers, those 615 missions give a crapload of XP. Being able to send three blue followers on a 615 mission and get 21500 XP each is great.

I find it typical that over the last two months, this thread has (almost) only been about issues regarding the Garrison. Followers, buildings, how to make money with your garrison.

If I didn't know better, I would not recognize anything from the game from 2005. Where adventuring, fantasy, dungeon crawling, exploration, socializing and teamplay was the core of the game.

Yeah.....I'd say the garrison and AHing things from the garrison makes up probably 50% of my playtime now. The other 50% is split 30/20 between LFR and leveling alts, though the last alt I'm leveling this xpac is now at 97, so...yeah. I do need to get into heroics on 2 lvl 100s (plus the 3rd coming soon) -- I skipped straight to LFR so I didn't do the quests to get the 680 ring. Should probably think about doing that. Then again, my sub expires on tues/wed this week so I might not renew until BRF is out. Haven't decided, probably will.

Most of that other stuff you mentioned kinda went away many years ago when they implemented the group finder system. There was no need to make friends on your server anymore because you could just queue for a dungeon and the game found a group for you. Since it was an anonymous group, people turned to asshats because you'd likely never see those other people again. Then addons like recount became popular, which led to some people thinking they were better than everyone else, amplifying the asshattery. It all kinda went downhill from there.

BRF is out now and its prb the best instance they have made since Ulduar

Aside from the horrible rez runs it's a really good raid so far. I liked HM, as a starter raid too.

I haven't tried it out yet, but that's quite a hefty claim...!

It is! However the raid is really pretty good so far (only killed about 6 bosses). I always liked winged instances with mini-end bosses that are a degree harder than the prior ones.

My only complaint so far is the intentional fucking around with the camera. They made a bunch of these boss areas with walls right where you want your camera. It's almost punishment for zooming way out...

highmaul was the same way for 4 of the 7 bosses

It was only really bad on tectus until you got into heroic strats. Flamebender's room is a dick to all ranged because there's pillars on the walls. Camera is constantly going from way zoomed out (but can't see through the pillars) to moderately zoomed it (camera on the pillar).

Don't get me started on oregorer.

Fighting with the camera is not a valid boss mechanic.

twins, korag and margok had serious camera issues, tectus as well

I had no issues with flamebender. I even have a pic http://www.spikeflail.com/img/killshot/wod/flamedude.jpg stood in basically that same place for both heroic and normal, didn't really require that much movement

oregorgers is annoying, operator can be with the trains, blackhand has its moments but its really OK as far as the camera goes. everything else was fine

maidens, hands boss, gruul, beastmaster, twins all seemed fine and im forgetting 2 of them as there are 10

From 90 degrees offset looks much better, I was in the corner probably 2 positions to your left. You were really lucky not having to move much. Last night I had meteor (ice block-> cold snap)->dog->meteor again (before cold snap was up). I had to get to melee with the dog chasing me and no CDs. Healers had no chance...

I do wonder if the Garrison ends up as doing more harm than good. It was fun at first, but it becomes an overwhelming amount of work when you start factoring alts. I spend a huge chunk of time doing Garrison stuff on my 4 characters. It's even worse this week with Darkmoon Faire, doing Garrison stuff and Darkmoon dailies trying to farm for missing heirloom pieces before 6.1 hits (PSA: supposedly level 80 heirlooms will automatically scale up to 90 in 6.1).

I should probably just stop doing Garrison stuff, but it's just wholly incompatible with my OCD nature. I can't just ignore those "free" herbs, ores, furs and bloods. :/

even with 3 max level alts and 1 at 95 I spend less then 1 hour a day doing garrison stuff, its takes seconds, not sure where the big time commitment comes from
