UBRS should make that even more ridiculous with the DD0 stuff.

I haven't really kept up with patch notes, is UBRS just available for the next month, then it gets re-tuned to level 100? Or what's the plan with it?

Yes, they gave it a momentary level 90 version as part of the preexpansion event.

Just did UBRS with my hunter, it's easy as all other 5mans, seems to be the same old run through it and hit the boss until it drops the shinies that has been in game since WoTLK, got an iLVL550 ring from the first boss

I remember when 15 mans were hard.

I remember having to set a night to do UBRS because i knew it would take a long time.

On related news, there are reports that the low level instances are not very well balanced and you can't faceroll them like usual, unsure if it's intended to make content a little harder or if it's an issue that has to be worked out

it's been known tanks will be harder for them, unsure of the rest. may stop in in just a moment for the ssc and tk pet run.

I'm playing again as well (actually I played most of MoP, just took a 4 month break)

Are you still on Stormrage (A) ?

Damn, sorry, just now saw your message here. Yeah, I'm sticking on Stormrage, it's home I guess. I like a populated server and this seems to be it. I haven't played hardly any since I subbed back up but will be hopping on tonight. I'm seriously considering preordering WoD for the free 90-level boost and still rolling a new alt. My old priest is still siting at 85 and needs to be leveled through Mop, got my ass handed to me by regular 85 mobs because I could not remember anything about playing it, haha.

So it could be fairly easily soloed/duoed by a geared character or two?

UBRS was always a 10 man... When the game first came out dungeons weren't capped so people would almost always bring 10 men into the end-tier 5 mans and 15 into UBRS, but they weren't balanced for that (granted, they were balls hard without doing so); it was basically an impromptu "casual" difficulty.

I thought this patch was at least a week early, given the bugs I've seen that may be generous. Some raids have bosses that are wiping people, something screwed with the squish. PVP guards set for max level 100 (again) while players aren't. Toybox having problems.

Also seeing reports of low/mid level people having trouble in dungeons and slowed down noticeably on regular world mobs.

Ordos doesn't require you to have a cloak....but someone on your account must have it.

having a problem with some crafting via reagent bags. Maybe if you have some but need the rest from another chars bank it doesn't work?

Trying to figure out what's "good" dps these days, got into a new style flex group for a bit, was pulling around 17-20K (fire mage).

Thus far I am disgusted!!!

The Hunter feels very weak now, they removed a lot of skills made aspects basically useless. SV has become a 3 button rotation might as well be playing it on an Atari 2600. Even with that keeping focus is a struggle I have to use Cobra shot 10X more for focus regen which severely hampers DPS. It is so bad felt like I was being carried in the new UBRS 90 man.

The new UBRS is horrible, healer was struggling to keep everyone alive, tank was struggling to keep agro, DPS was struggling to kill anything.

There was a Blood Elf DK challenging Alliance players to duals, pre-patch I could handle DKs on my hunter. I accepted his challenge, set the stop watch at the start, I wanted to see how fast I could kill him, I was dead in 7 seconds!

I watched him do the same thing to everyone else he challenged, a good indication that Alliance is going to get beat down this season worse than ever before.

Also seems BG queues are fubared. They've already had to do a lot of post squish mob/player fixing for raid/dungeons/world mobs. Imagine this will continue for some time.

1) PVP will be unbalanced until lvl 100 - this always happens with the expansion patch when they change things
2) there are always tons of bugs with the big pre xpac patches. which is why they come out a month early

my WOW install got FUBARED, I logged in and ran around shrine for 5 min and then the game would not let me exit, so I forced it closed and then when I tried to log back in it said it was "incompatible" with all realms - that is a new one to me, had to uninstall and download
at least the ~30 gig download was running at 4 megs a sec

If you aren't on a PvP server, the guards level is irrelevant.

Ordos has been like that for a while I thought. I was able to do it on any character as my Warlock had one

This is just about every class now. Fire mage rotation is fireball until crit->inferno blast->Fireball until crit->pryo. That's it for single target, 3 buttons.

A few thoughts so far:

Bags: Really like the bag sorting/cleanup and the new reagent bank. Very useful imo.

Toys: Didn't have as many as I thought as some things I assumed would become toys did not. Also the search function for bags works on pretty much everything BUT toys. Was rather annoying going through every item on 20+ characters looking for new ones and deleting the same old ones over and over and over...

UBRS: Long queue times, short instance. My hunter(BM) isn't that geared, around 521, but we seemed to do ok. Tank pulled the entire first room and we just dps'd it down. Spanked the whole instance, nobody came close to dying. Ended up with gloves off the 2nd boss.

Soloing old content: Seems pretty easy as dps now. Went and solo'd the old Dragon Soul 5-mans like they were nothing. So then I tried Dragon Soul 10. Having never stepped in the door or read anything about the fights I one shot the first 3 bosses. Ultraxion was a pita but after I actually read up on the fight I down'd him after few wipes. Next boss was cake. Then I hit Spine of Deathing and gave the F up. I lack the coordination necessary to run back and forth the whole fight hoping he doesn't roll me off into space. I assume anything pre-Mist will be fairly easy for anyone with Timeless gear.

  • Loved the JP->Gold conversion. Toons on one of my servers have pretty much been inactive since hitting 90, but I wasted a ton of gold on DMF trinkets early on. Getting 8-10k gold or whatever from excess JP was good.
  • Bummed that the heirloom tab isn't in for release. I would've rather had that than the toys tab. I'm probably a minority in that.
  • I would like a way to disable the item quality highlighting in my bags, I find it annoying. Been up and down the interface menu and can only find the ability to change npc/player/mouseover highlights.
  • Didn't play my lowbie rogue/priest much last night due to queues on Zul'jin, but I hopped on Dark Iron and checked out all the classes there. I love the changes to the level 90 mage talents -- specifically Rune of Power being 3 mins and then there being a passive available with Incanter's Flow. Supernova is crazy awesome for arcane.
  • New UBRS was pretty quick, though I died twice. I'm only ilvl 516 on the toon I did it on, and some of the abilities hit pretty hard. Seemed to be able to pull aggro off a significantly better-geared tank that was just trying to AoE tank everything, so maybe we're back to dps threat being a thing? Got a ilvl 550 chest drop from the last boss to replace my 489 rep robes.
  • People are buying up low level herbs and ores for crazy prices. 20g/stack for peacebloom and silverleaf, 30g/stack for briarthorn, ghost mushrooms are 200g/stack. And they're all selling practically instantly. What did I miss? Is it just from the boosted 90s trying to level up profs? Anyway, cleared out my banks of all those since I have no use.
  • They seem to have adjusted lower level hp too -- either that or I wasn't paying attention. My heirloomed priest I thought was ~3000-3200hp at level 41, but last night was showing almost 6000. I could be wrong, or it could be a UI bug I guess.

That's all it's been for a while, except adding living bomb which you can still do through talents should you choose -- and then combustion on CD. I haven't tried Blastwave yet, but if it hits as hard as Supernova it might not be a bad idea to work in to your rotation.

I don't think they butchered/changed mages nearly as much as some other classes, the gameplay and rotation is largely the same.

Guards matter when it's inside the battleground. And as I said, not the first expansion they've done that.

While everything got squished, they did the BC adjustment with health to get rid of resilence so health will be relatively higher than other stats now.

Haven't looked any other specs/classes yet, but only real changes fordestruction are CoE being removed which was just cast once at start of fight and snapshotting taking away the need to align some of the cooldowns as much.
