Guess with all the news about things being removed/delayed with WoD, now we get some details on added projects: AH being revised to be cross-faction.

Of course all this likely means is they removed the flag setting on each auction listing putting it on the horde or alliance side, but at least it's something!

The neutral AH is always a joke, practically empty. They're inconvenient to even get to. I wouldn't mind it being cross faction. I could imagine things having an additional charge when being purchased from the other faction, similar to the way the neutral AH works now.

If you on the smaller faction side, even after getting pseudo realm-merged, could see average item cost go down for you along with quantity increase.

Tried FLEX for the first time today. I dont know why I have never tried it, SO much better than LFR. I also got 3 drops on my first wing.

If you don't have a normal group getting into flex is by far the way to go. It's at least pre-formed groups so you get less derpyness and more accountability. Sure, they aren't immune from being horrific experiences, but they can be much better and better loot.

yea flex isn't to bad especially at this point in the game. but yea you can have horrid experiences in it still

I generally try to run a cpl wings for some specific items or VP and it goes OK
Had a group do F 1-2 yesterday that was pretty awesome. nothing but gold even on bonus rolls on the bosses that still have upgrades for me

I Did FINIALLY get my glove token off General on Monday and then Yesterday I get the one from Celestials, which only took 6 months of running it weekly :( my alt got both pieces in 3 weeks

Ya Flex is nice cause you get the freedom to pick and choose along with the ability to see player's item level.

I finally landed Hellscream's Pig Sticker this past weekend on my monk so I'm pretty pumped about getting to use it going into WoD.

agree.

TBH from the start they should have just let you purchase the cape outright for alts if you already had it on a toon.

just make you get exalted and have it cost some amount of gold

They should let you buy Heroic Warforged gear at a vendor too. For 1000 gold per piece. Heck, no, that's a bit expensive. Say 100 gold per HWF item. It would make it sooo much more convenient to gear up alts. Can't see why they haven't done that yet.

While they are at it, once you get your main to 90, they should let you boost your alts to 90 without playing too. Why go through the same boring content again ?

Oh wait, they already let you boost all your alts to 90 without playing. I'm sure that HWF gear-vendor will be there soon too.

WoW is constantly getting to be sooo much better then vanilla !

yea nerfing the grind for alts for that stupid cape has nothing to do with anything he posted nor do i support any of that

its not a new idea many hardcore people have said similar things, having to grind that out on multipal chars is moronic

The Dark Below expansion details released. For those that forgot, it was datamined from copyright fillings just a bit before WoD was. Turns out it is for a Destiny expansion.

Also listened to an older interview about early WoD development. Seems the change of file system type has given them extra bugs to overcome which is responsible for some delays and some of the additional resources being put into the game are going into the garrisons, so hope you enjoy them! In part the garrison NPCs will be different from all other world NPCs by not being tied to a predetermined script behavior, they'll have a basic autonomous behavior programmed to walk among the garrison and interact with you and other NPCs.

One of the main advantages for the new file structure will be allowing an increased amount of data to be applied to the game as server side patches. It may, but not sure, also improve some load times and other performance issues.

^^^ somebody is a little upset
No, I was not upset when I wrote that.
I've heard it a thousand times before. People playing 10 alts, and then complaining that everything is too much work to do on all 10 alts. So they want "the grind" to be reduced. Easier leveling. More xp. Heirlooms. Leveling through BGs only. Quest markers. Quest hubs. LFD-tool. Removal of group quests. Removal of elite mobs from the world. Extra valor on alts. Sharded mounts and pets. Shared achievements. Introduction of Bind on Account items. Loads and loads of new things introduced, just for people playing alts. And still they complain that it isn't enough.

Maybe if you don't have the time to invest in 10 alts, then maybe you shouldn't play 10 alts ?

Anyway, I am upset today.
About something else.
I've been playing Horde on the same server since 2005. In the early days, the Alliance was mainly Russians. In August 2008, Blizzard opened Russian servers. Our Alliance all migrated to their new localized servers. My server has been Horde-only for 6 years now. Lovely. No retarded world-pvp. A few months ago we merged with 2 other servers, also 100/0 Horde balanced. Good. We had more players to play with. And still no Alliance.

Last week we got merged with a server with a huge population. And most of them Alliance. The new balance is something like 70% Alliance, 30% Horde. Got ganked on Timeless Isle immediately. So did all my guildies.

What was Blizzard thinking ? That the Horde players on my server would enjoy world pvp ? If they would, they would have rerolled or migrated years ago. If a server has been Horde-only for 6 years, NOBODY is waiting to see Alliance players. Does Blizzard not think ahead at all ? Do they not look at statistics ? Do they have not a single brain cell ?

OK, now you can all give me your smug replies.

IT'S A PVP SERVER, REROLL, YOU MORON !
De-facto it has not been a pvp-server for 6 years. And even before that, EU-Deathwing has never had any world pvp since the BattleGrounds opened. Our players were just too polite to go grief others without any reason.

IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, MIGRATE, YOU MORON !
It's Blizzard messing up things. I am NOT going to pay them EXTRA money, because they make my life miserable. Besides, I think that in a game where I pay a monthly fee, all services should be included in the price of the subscription. It's a matter of principle. I will not pay a cent extra on top of the monthly 13 euros.

IF YOUR POOR, THEN REROLL, YOU GREEDY BASTARD !
I'm not rerolling servers. I've been on EU-Deathwing since 2 days after the server opened, in February 2005. This is my server. I joined my guild when I was level 30 or so, in March 2005. Nine years later, I am still in the same guild. I will not join some random guild on another server, where I know nobody, because Blizzard messes up.

IF YOUR ATTAKCED, FIGHT BACK, YOU WUSSY !
I'm not gonna fight back. The gankers actually enjoy that (I assume). I'm not gonna cater them. Besides, even with good PvE gear, I don't stand a chance against people in shitty 522 pvp gear. PvP gear is good in PvE. PvE gear is useless in PvP. Thanks, Tom Chilton ! Hope you're the next to resign.

Also, this does not make me look forward to leveling to 100 in WoD. The leveling will be a gigantic gank-fest.

So yeah. This server merge did make me a little upset.

in the end, it's still a pvp server. if you go back and look at what you said earlier in the post about people complaining about people wanting less of a grind to manage their multiple alts compared to you complaining about pvp when you're already on a pvp server... it's kinda ludicrous.

Reading between the lines there he was on a PvP server but never experienced PvP. It wasn't because they were too nice, LOL. My ass. It's because he was on a PvP server with a heavy faction imbalance. His faction ganked plenty I'm sure.

Now, after the merge, he's on the receiving end.

Even if I'm off base, you know what it's also been defacto? The PvP setting of the server.

Back to the buff and gear part. At this point in the xpac does it really matter? Just a few months left of it so make it easy for people to finish off the cloak quest and get some decent gear for WoD.

This is weird. When the connected realm process began there were people who asked for lop sided servers to be balanced as part of the whole affair. Blizzard's response was they intended to maintain the previous faction balance. Maybe a different plan for the EU? Its almost like they maintained Maelstrom's balance rather than the 3 servers they joined to it.

I have leveled multiple characters on both ends of the stick and it isn't as bad as it seems. Whatever the quest hub for the current max level content is will be a busy area, but leveling is usually only a sore spot in the first few months directly after a new expansion. Timeless is kind of an odd duck, being that the only people that go there are people who need entry level gear, and people who want to gank undergeared people. Stay away from the zones where all the poor people go to get gear and you should be safe.

Does anybody else listen to warcraft/blizzard podcast? I recently found Convert to Raid and think they are great. But I could use more to help pass the time to and from work. Any suggestions?

the server im on got merged a while ago, and it now seems just as dead as it was before the merge

for a while you could tell there were a lot more people around. not anymore

also I only play 1 alt and the legendary grind is that annoying that yes I feel I should not have to do it again

Blizz never said they were or weren't doing connected to alter faction balance. It's main goal was to increase the population for one or both sides. If factions happened to become more balanced then that is just a side effect.

As more people are finally realizing that the expansion is likely to not be released till after blizzcon, think it would be a good move to just make the entire cloak a BoA reward you just need to unlock once.

The main problem with the cloak is it's basically required to do good damage coupled with the several week long grind. I'm not sure how long it is currently, I don't play alts but EVERYONE I know who does absolutely hates it, iirc it's only moderately faster than it originally was.

Had a very classic moment while playing last night. Mage going through northrend, and found a treasure chest in the open that gave me a blue wand. Reminded me of the old days when you could walk around the forest and every now and then find a chest sitting behind a tree.
