Love hearing some people talk about WoD coming out before the april release of elder scrolls as some sort of one up maneuver. Beside being a massive shortening of any previous expansion release timeline, we're now talking about 2 months and change till this release and nothing indicating a beta process being prepared or any real game footage from the recent con.

Most things on TI have some specific attack patterns that you can learn and deal with. My main is an ENH shaman too, and while it was tough at first, once I figured out how to fight them it got easier. Turtles are pretty easy kills, just gotta watch out for their spin attack. Don't use your flame or earth shock, save it for the frost shock and when it gets ready to spin slow it and run away. The pink birds are pretty easy also, the only thing you need to avoid is the front cone attack. Just run behind them and keep smacking them. Tigers are pretty easy kills too. Just avoid their pounce by running through them and get behind to avoid their front cone attack.

Also, try to collect the pink stone things, the books of ages, and the dew items. I can't remember what they're all called. The pink stone randomly does 200K+ dmg, the book randomly gives you 8000+ to a stat, and the dew will randomly heal you for 60K. Also be sure to get the buffs from the altar, and eat an apple or use a crystal or any of those 5% to all stats buff.

Now that I've got a bunch of purple 496/535 gear I'm just destroying things. Except the damn frogs. I hate those things.

Ah, that'd make sense if you tried to include gold with the heirlooms. Yeah, it's unfortunate, but that's not an option.

It worked.

But yesterday I tried to see what good heirloom weapon I could by to level my new level 1 prot-to-be warrior but damn those one-hand swords are meh at best...

You get heirloom weapons for their ever increasing weapon damage, not so much the secondary stats.

Weapon damage isn't a priority with a prot warrior. The only 2 attacks you'll ever do that is based on weapon damage is devastate (if shield slam and revenge is on cooldown) and heroic strike which is just a rage dump.

So your 2 main attacks are shield slam and revenge which both increase with your attack power.

Basically, just stack strength.

Thanks for the tips! I'll be sure to keep that in mind.
Never tanked in this game, always played easy mode DPS 😛

My next 2 toons will be a Tank, that I just started, and a Healer later on.

Tanking can be quite fun... or really frustrating. I enjoy it most times until you get one of those people that just seems to always try and pull that mob that has a few threat taps (keeping it above healing aggro). Warrior can be a bit of fun especially when you zip around the place using the billions of gap closing abilities. 😛

So did they revise the blood elf starting area with cataclysm or MOP?

I'm liking hunter gameplay a lot. Like, you don't have to deal with hit detection as much as with melee classes. And best of all, you can be fully mobile the entire time. So like if you're running and a random beast attacks you, you can shoot at it while still moving in the direction you want to go.

Beastmaster has a very satisfying "kill" command also.

Interesting, I thought they converted most/all abilities to scale with weapon damage/spell power. That devalues weapons a bit for prot warriors.

They will still scale str (as would armor) but you also get white damage, extra damage from abilities that do benefit from weapon damage, and a better enchant on weapons vs. armor.

Finally had a weekend fairly interruption free so decided to play mostly the main instead of doing alts. Did a full round of isle chest. A whole lot of peeps out there with all these connected realms. Previous I had only barely checked it out, and at the time there was a big ally group trying to control the place. Now in connected there are so many horde the ally boys seem to be trying to maintain a low profile. Did get about 16 gear tokens, used one for my head with the essence as it was the worst piece I had and sent the rest to the alt bank. Finally got around to doing some transmog as I hat the pandaland cloth helm graphic and swapped to the wrath forsaken alchemist guy outfit I had in the bank.

Then decided to finally work on the legendary quest line. PVP part was interesting, definitely notice a reduction of incoming damage. With only one against you it was a slow go, even two not bad unless they're popping the big cooldowns. One match I even forgot to shift back into my S13 outfit till half way through and still wasn't dieing much with the base level change. Then got to the part with all the trillium bars and secrets. Had already used most of my trillium for steel for the golem, so had to transmute all my ghost ore and farm about 30 minutes for the rest. The went to the isle of thunder for the secrets, and after killing for about 10 minutes and not getting any drops, looked up the quest and realized it's a raid boss drop, well fudge. Hopefully the drop rate is better than the earlier one the wanted raid boss drops.

Also for the guys that bought the iron drake thing, stop using it as a ground mount. Not sure how it looks in air but it's seriously fugly trying to hop around.

speaking of timeless loot, this is what i have after 1 month of doing the daily/weekly on my main (before i have my DK nearly 2 full sets of plate). still cant get a 2nd cloth shoulder token to use a burden on, its my only sub 500 ilvl armor piece left

I just bought the bow last week, I'll take a free upgrade. Wonder why they did that though? And I hope my valor upgrades to the weapon sticks too.

Has anyone ever played on RP server? I played wow long ago on regular PVP server but I thought of RP could be actual fun.

I'm on Twisting Nether, a RP-PVP server.

No real RP going on there.

I remember when I started playing at release I rolled my first toon on Argent Dawn, a RP server. RP was heavy on there. It was actually fun seeing people RP their characters but it became a bit "too much" a few months in.

The state the game is right now I don't think there's RP anymore. The game is now rush to 90 and LFR your way to easy mode. 😛

Still fun to play though.
