Everyone at work (thousands of ppl) is getting these new Compaq's (fast, fast !). I don't see anything in the bios that will allow me to oc and I don't see where on the computer it shows the model number. Couldn't be a jumper on the motherboard could it? Would they have a "special" corporate version of the bios & it I flashed to a new bios would it mess up anything the IT people have running on the machine (I know that Tivoli runs every once in awhile on the computer to take "inventory" of the system)?

My last system was an IBM that was oc-able in the bios. Since it was a corporate machine, I just took it up 13%. I'd imagine these are Willy's so I'm not expecting to do too much to it anyway, maybe 2.0GHz.

If that's a work owned machine and you don't have permission, I wouldn't be overclocking it. :(

I haven't been inside any of the new Compaq's but unless they've taken a radical departure from past models, they (along with HP's, Dell's, Gateway's, etc.) don't overclock well, if at all. And as others have noted, you really shouldn't be messing with a workplace computer. Your IT guys will hang you out to dry if they get wind of it.
