Thanks for all of the advice. I figure ill cave to the dealer this weekend.

There is one dealership that matched my lowest price via email. How much more negotiation room would I get by dealing in person?

at the point where the dealer calls anything you offer "ridiculous" during a business negotiation/transaction. Find a new dealer... someone who could at least respect you as a potential customer regardless of what you say to them.

BTW, I don't think there's a difference phone vs. email... what you're shopping around against each dealer is what matters... they should want your business, right?

Costco and AAA (and others I'm sure) have programs where you pay true dealer invoice (not the price the dealer tells you he paid) plus dealer installed options, minus incentives plus a set dollar amount or percentage. The formula is pretty simple and often will save you $500 without the hours of haggling. I believe AAA will shop for a used vehicle as well and do the negotiations for you so you don't have to waste time doing it yourself.

Costco, USAA, AAA and many others all use Zag.com (Marketing partner), so OP already has the same price info as them. It's all about how they market their product, but in fact, they are all the same = Zag.com.

From my experience with G37 and my parents' Sequoia, Zag pricing was a firm bottom line. I even had few dealers, which don't even want to match Zag pricing even if I walk out. So, if the dealer gives $ 300 below Zag, you actually have a pretty good deal.

Invoice for base TL is $ 34k ($ 36k MSRP), and there is $ 1750 cash to dealer. So, $ 30 - $ 30.5k is really good price, IMO.

What do you want to pay?

"The lowest possible" is not the correct answer. You have to have some numerical value, or else you do not know what you are negotiating for.

Email the guy back and say something like, "You have the lowest offer, but I am still not happy with it. Let me come in and talk"

Go in, talk, keep your numerical value in your mind. If he starts talking monthly payments, put him back on track. If he does not meet your price, tell him to keep going. If he does not meet it still, start to get up and walk. If he asks you what price you want to pay, tell $500 below what you really want to pay. If he says it is not possible, start to walk away. If he lets you walk out the door, move onto the next dealer.

Here is the Price of the Acura TL if you buy through the USAA car purchase program.

All you have to do is bring this certificate to the dealer and settle. No negotiation, no BS. $30.8k
