Given your suggestion, I'm trying to use namecheap to transfer a previously existing domain from DreamHost. Unfortunately, NameCheap is telling me it "cannot be transferred. This domain has expired or expires within 7 days". I have two days left - did I wait too long, and am SOL? TIA.

I got caught like that too. You can't transfer a domain if it is within a week of expiring. I had to renew with my current registrar, you can transfer after you renew and namecheap with honour the rest of the year without charge (IIRC).

Thanks - I contacted them, and was told as much. I'll have to remember this ahead of time, next year.

Hey Dart, I haven't heard from you so I don't know if there's any trouble setting me up with some hosting. Did you get my emails?

ditto. 🙁 No worries though. It's free, he's going out of his way. I'm patient. 😛

I'm just making sure he's getting my emails 😛 - Also he says in the OP that
"Accounts are set up within 36-48 hrs...usually much faster. " and it's been 10 days. So I guess I am sort of being impatient. I honestly don't care much though, since I have nothing too big or important to host.

Your account information was sent on 3.18.2007 and I resent it on 3.25.2007

Please check your junk mail or spam folder...

Good idea to check there. What would you have put in the Subject line or what name does it say it is from? I am sifting through my spam folder to see if I can find it.

I wonder if I missed it there as well, except I already emptied my spam folder. 🙁

Ah, I thought something might be wrong. That's weird. I'm pretty sure I didn't get it at all. I don't delete anything in my yahoo spam folder in case such an event happens, but using the yahoo mail search I can't find it anywhere. Sorry bout that. I need to change my main email account to my gmail address, my yahoo email addy is old as the hills and gets lots of junk mail. So, I guess try sending it to my gmail address, which is the same as my yahoo address with gmail.com instead of yahoo.com. Can also click my username here to see it. Thanks.

Makes me wonder about how many other emails I havent been getting 😕
