AT&T's return policy

I went in last week to my local AT&T store to pick up a case for me black jack two, the day before i went out of town for several days. I ask for a case that would fit my phone, and the punk working there hands me one.

I inspect the case, and it seems that all is well.

I pay for it, and he takes it out of the box and hands it to me. I figure ok, no biggie, less trash for me right?

I Payed with a card!

Well i put the case in my glove compartment and drive home, not trying the case out since i was in gym shorts. Well the next day comes and i slide my BJ2 into the case, which reveals that it does not fit properly.

Great.

I then rummage though my wallet for the receipt, and do not find one. As I think back, I never got one at all, along with the box the sales rep kept.

The weekend passes and I return to the store to look into an exchange, and the new rep says he cannot process it without the box or receipt, and to call a manager the following day, which brings us to today. I call the manager of the store and tell her my situation. She gives me the whole story the rep did about the receipt and the box and I tell her my side of the story. She tells me to call back in an hour or so when the supposed rep who sold me the case would be coming in for his shift ( I ID'd him by the gages in his ears ). An hour passes and i call to find out that the rep denies working that day, and he has no clue what I am talking about. WTF?? The manager then tells me to call back friday so she can look in the system for the receipt some more. !!!!

Cliffs:
*Bought phone case at ATT
*Case does not fit
*Sales rep did not give me a receipt or the box
*I take the case back for an exchange
*Said sales rep denies doing the transaction
*I wait for friday for a real fucking solution to my problem

So basically what you're telling us is that you have no proof that you purchased it from an AT&T store. Got it.

It's clear he just pocketed the cash from the transaction.

They're probably jerking you around. Their POS Journal should definitely be able to search for at the very least the UPC on that item on that day, and further narrow it down by the last four digits on your CC number (if you used one). If you specify a time, it can further narrow it down.

If they can't find it, like others are saying, he probably pocketed the money. You may be able to get them to check the security cameras.

There's no way, he rang it up, and the price came up on the display, and the thank you message appeared. I payed with debit.

I work for AT&T. Did he ask for a phone number at checkout? If he did they could pull up your phone number and find the receipt. Atleast that's how my store does it.

Then bring in your statement.

That said, it's pretty standard for no receipt = no care these days.

So, while AT&T is being douchey, you should've gotten a receipt.

BTW, it's PAID

No, i was asked last night at the store and all that appeared on the account was a sim card from months ago.

Call customer care, and ask for a retail feedback report to be filed, along with the correspondance address that you can write to with a complaint. They'll ask you what the problem is, explain it to them rationally and without cursing, and suggest that all you want is the money you spent back for it, they will likely credit it to you. At least I would if it were me.
