at the high point of my HIIT cardio training, I started wheezing

I was on my final minute of my cardio training, high intesity, with exertion at a level 10 on a scale of 1 to 10. about 30 seconds into it, I started wheezing at the end of my exhale. I stopped because it's never happened before, and I was worried that was a bad thing.

Can anyone provide some insight into this? Would it have been ok to keep going? I only had 30 more seconds to go.

Have you been sick recently? Maybe you have a cold with mucous in the lungs, making it difficult to breathe.

no, I haven't been sick recently. I did just start my fitness journey 2 weeks ago. I'm wondering if I pushed my slovenly, sedentary self too much, too fast

Did you get checked out by a doctor before starting your program? That sounds lame I know, but maybe you pushed yourself a lil bit too hard. I've always wheezed so it's normal for me.

It is a possibility. Better to take it on a slow but steady progression

You mentioned that you started two weeks ago. Before those two weeks, were you actively working out? Or is this a crash course type workout plan?

One thing you could do is work on building a good overall cadio base then from there, you could really start to hit it hard.

I've wheezed during races before. I tend to do it towards the end when I'm sprinting to the finish. I never was worried about it, but if you're two weeks from being sedentary, I'd at least try to take it a little easier.
