AT&T Wireless No. 1 in complaints

In order of highest number of complaints to lowest:

1) AT&T Wireless
2) Sprint PCS
3) T-Mobile
4) Cingular Wireless
5) Nextel
6) Verizon Wireless

After billing problems, consumers complained most about number transfers to other carriers, service quality, contracts and how wireless companies marketed and advertised their services, the Consumers union said.

Hmmm..I've had AT&T for 2 years now without a single problem.

Had Sprint before that though and cancelled my contract after one week because I couldn't get a signal in my house.

I've been with Sprint for 5years now without any problems. Family in same city have it & complain of signal loss. I blame the phones... they are with verizon now and say signal is great.

Something tells me there is probably a strong correlation between the number of subscribers and the number of complaints.

Commen sense, that thought hit me reading the thread title.

"For every 10,000 subscribers it served, Sprint Corp. scored the next highest number of complaints. Deutsche Telekom's T-Mobile USA came in third."

it's a rate per 10k subscribers. i'd say all 6 listed have large enough sample sizes that the rate / 10k would be an accurate indication of the service provided.

some of you crack me up. you think that because you've never had any complaints it somehow negates the statistics?

people use to say that about the IBM hard drives too. no one defending them now.

I have had Verizon for 6 years or so... I will stick with them until they jack something up real bad.

I find it intersting that former Sprint subscribers in this forum seem to be the most vocal about having come from x provider and loving their new y provider. Why is that?

As a side note, has anyone noticed that Virgin Mobile is consistently rated one of the highest in network satisfaction, and it uses Sprint's network? I swear, I think people just like to jump on the bandwagon of hating Sprint like it's something cool people do. WTF?

Possibly because sprint sucks ass when it comes to service.

I came from Sprint. Couldn't get a signal in my own home, had to walk outside down to the sidewalk. Whenver I tried calling customer service, I was on hold a minimum of half an hour.

I've had AT&T for 2 years. Haven't even had to call customer service.

It's not the phones. I had a cheap Sanyo 4500 which had 0-1 bars in this very spot of my house. I purchased a $600 Treo 600 2 years later and it had 1 bar at most also and would drop calls just as frequently. It's the cell towers.. Sprint isn't doing as well as VZW. I get at least 2-3 bars with my free Kyocera VZW phone in the same spot and NEVER a dropped call. CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW ? 😀

Wow, the only big surprise to me is Cingular, I thought they'd be higher up. I knew either AT&T or Sprint would top that list though

Why do you think ?! They sucked that much, but it depends on where you are located. I had 25% off monthly and free wireless web for Sprint and I still left. I lived with their sub-par service for 3 years longer than I should've. :|

Sanyos typically have the best reception. So if you had a Samsung A460 (god forbid, what a POS), you probably wouldn't get a signal at all.
