Looks like there is a massive nation wide service outage for AT&T wireless and all of its MVNOs?

Currently in Southern California and showing no service on my phone.

NSA is just switching over to their new system. It'll be all working again shortly.

Holy crap must be something pretty major for it to take out such a large but sporadic geographical area. A fibre cut or something along those lines would only affect a general area but it seems this is effecting different spots throughout the whole country.

Wonder if they're running out of IPs... I have seen that at a more localized level, when people's leases expire they can't get back online. Maybe some screw up in a config change on DHCP reservations or something. Though, that does not explain the such wide affected area. IP ranges are still somewhat localized.

Pretty sure it's not *only* those areas. It's a heat map, and it emphasizes the population centers...as you'd expect.

I used to be contractor for AT&T. Once in awhile, a newbie makes a parameter change that he shouldn't and crazy things like this happens. He won't make the same mistake again because he's fired. Then next year something like this will happen again. These guys are under a lot of stress and not much time with proper training

I am on Cricket and was sending texts yesterday to my buddy with AT&T, they all went through. I didn't make any calls though.

The people at my work with Cricket - about 5 - couldn't make calls. Their phones only said No Service.

AT&T users (only two of them at my work) didn't seem to have a problem, and Verizon was perfect as always.
