Got AT&T U-Verse installed today, TV + Internet. Opted for the U200 channel package, with the 6/1 MBps Internet. Main reason I wanted it was the upgrade on the upstream from regular DSL, for remote viewing on the Slingbox. Actually I'm planning on getting rid of the TV portion after I get the free month and $150 cash rebate, unless somehow I get really swayed by its performance (we are loyal DirecTV TiVo customers, or at least my Dad is).

They wouldn't let me order it without ordering TV+Internet together because I can get DSL at this location, but supposably I can remove the TV portion at anytime. Free installation & equipment, $150 cash back, one free month of TV and $10 off the normal price, not a bad deal.

On DSL, I was getting consistently 2500/430, giving mediocre Slingbox performance. Now I get speeds up to 930 kbps (where it hangs for awhile), but then it sometimes falters down to 600-800 range before heading back up. Overall still satisfied. Today's Speedtest 2Wire WiFi signal seems to be stronger than the Linksys WRT54G router I used previously, another plus.

I didn't know until yesterday that Qwest has fiber available in Phoenix...time to do some research and see if it's worth it!

Really? Hmm, if only Qwest wasn't on my shit list, I'd be interested.

Edit - Can't even conduct research on it right now because their site 'is being updated'.

I have U-Verse and it is much faster than my old Comcast or my parents AT&T DSL.

I had U-Verse installed.....and had it promptly removed after less than a day. It has terrible quality HD (only one stream), the internet is horribly slow, and their digital phone service is a complete rip-off. Don't even get me started on their wireless service.

Do not waste your time with them. Stick with your cable company or go with Verizon FiOS (if it is available in your area)
