AT$T PocketNet service

Hi,

A friend and I have been looking into the AT&T pocketnet free wireless internet with their phone plans. Anybody know about this and are using it? Any thoughts on it. Here's how it works:

You sign up with any of their phone plans and get a basic internet service to a restricted number of sites (about 40 or so) You can't check email but can do other things like get directions, phone book, airline info, and so on/forth.

Go to decide.com to find out more. IS this worth it? They currently have two phones that work with this plan: Mitsubishi T-250 and the Ericsson 288 or something. You can see the phones at www.attws.com

Thoughts?

*bump*

Being as though next week I am going to purchase a new cel phone, I too am very interested in the wireless web.

Any experiences to share, or recommendations?

Just to let you know, if the top speed is still what it was a couple months ago, the max speed you could hope to get 19kb.

Hope you like downloading at 2k a second 😛

2k a second is fine when all you're transferring is text bits... I've been playing around with them at the AT&T outlets for a while.. they seem very useful.. of course, I tell myself this to buy it but am afraid that after I do, I won't use it as much as I think i will.
