So my sister's been in the Apple ecosystem ever since she's had smartphone. Now that she's planning on upgrading to the 6, I want to make sure she gets the most for her 5 and possibly 4. Does anyone know the details on the AT&T trade-in program?

i.e., as far as I can tell on the website, you have to order a new phone (presumably pay for it) and then you can do the trade-in. Meaning, do you only get the $200 credit/gift card AFTER you've already spent $200+ on a new iPhone 6?

Her old iPhone 4 has a bad home button...if I can get $200 for the phone after replacing the button, I'll certainly buy the part. No idea what I'd do with $200 in AT&T store credit though.

Exactly, Kenmitch...if I can fix a button for a few bucks and trade in for $200, done!

And paying a wireless bill, thanks! That answers what I'd do with it.

I am interested in trading mine it too, but it has scratches on the screen after being dropped on asphalt. It's not cracked or chipped, but the flat surface has scratches. I doubt they will buff out without hurting the coating on the glass.

ATT's website said $27 instead of $200 since it has screen damage.
I might try a local ATT store trade in and if they don't give $200, I will sell on eBay/craiglist with good pics of scratches.

Scratch should be fine I think as long as there are no cracks.
