AT&T DSL Pro Package for $17.99

i tried doing this the other day and it didnt work

tried it today and received the following

AT&T Yahoo! High Speed Internet Request for xxx-xxx-xxxx.

Our records indicate that your account is not eligible for a renewal offer at this time. Please check back within 60 days of your term committment end date for future possibilities.
 
Bastards... they just sent me a notice in the mail that my current DSL plan was expiring and that it would automatically renew at $34.99/mo.

My contract is up in June. I got the notice of 34.99 renewal and was going to fight it out with the retention dept for renewal at the 12.99 rate. Then, yesterday I got an email offering the Pro package at 17.99. I don't really need the Pro, but the upgrade is a nice fallback if I can't sway the retention dept. Reports say they will not be swayed -- anyone know different?

i also have at&t. is it possible to cancel and then sign up again?
 
Before being able to renew. I called and was told this only works on-line but I'd qualify the CSR said so I did and it worked. Mine would have been up in June so I must be within 60 days period and the CO was close enough to provide the newer bandwidth of 3mps.
 
..I'am an AT&T customer but can't get DSL at any speed. Something to do wit the SBC/AT&T merger and have to wait till it's complete.
 
schweeet...i'm paying $25 a month for 1.5 Mbps right now...thanks
(BTW, worked for me...even though the other day their site told me DSL wasn't available for my number...😕 )
 
how do you know this works with new customers?

I have Verizon DSL @ 1.5mbps...I'd love to use this to get them to up it to 3mbps...but I see no evidence of that rate for new customers..........

Yeah, I'm getting an error also. Been with SBC-Yahoo for years. Have you tried calling them yet? Or is that how you found out that it has to do with the merger?

It won't hurt by calling them and explain your situation with him or her, the least they can do is to tell you whether you're eligible or not before wasting your time to find out later on-line. I did call and I was told mine was qualified although I had to renew via on-line later on.

 
Our current $24.99 for DSL Pro ($59.99 - $35 discount) contract expires in June. When I click the link above for Existing Customers, it offers me the opportunity to renew at $39.99/month. No thank you SBC.

If we don't get a more reasonable offer via e-mail, I guess we'll switch back to cable in June.
 
it looks like this 17.99 deals only applies to upgrades from existing customers. Those who have the 1.5meg plan renewing and going up to the 3 meg plan.

Including me there were 2-3 others who got the 39.99 month to month offer and we currently have the pro package.
 
thanks OP! was just about to call to upgrade my plan. Now i'm paying a dollar less for 2x the speed! and i got the year renewal. not the 6mo crap they've been trying to push.

..I did. Got no where. And found out there's a difference between upper case ATT and lower case att. I have upper case ATT but cant get sbc/dsl till I change over to lower case att. And they want 30.00 to make the change..but then they said if I wait the change will happen anyway. So I'm watching my mail for dsl offers. They don't know when the upper case ATT customers will be lower case att but I suspect soon. 😕
