AT&T Cable TV - don't they offer anything cheaper than $45/month?

I don't need HBO, cinemax, 14music channels, or whatever. I really only want the major networks to come in clear. Don't they offer any "basic" service?

Some companies don't. I wish they had like an $8 locals only package for the tv's that don't have a Directv box on them.

yeah, most Cable TV places do but it's like hidden on their site or something

EDIT: like with Cox, the main links from their main page all direct you to digital cable.. you have to poke around a bit to find basic $37/month cable

$45 is the cheapest offering? That does suck.

Comcast offers a basic plan for about $25/month. You only get 15 channels or so.

Where do yall live. Here in Wilmington NC the cable companey gets a contract to service the city, BUT part of having a monoply is that they have to offer basic local stations for like 9 dollars a month. It is around 9-12 channels. If there is no other cable companey in your area call the cable place and ask what their local package gos for or their smallest package. If they still say something like $30 dollars ask fot the manger and tell them what you want. If they don't help call city hall and find out who is in charge of it. This may only work if your cable companey has a monoply in your town.

Actually, Cox has a "limited" basic service where I receive about 40 stations. The price is $12.70 a month - and I get all of my local stations quite clearly.

That's what I do with my cable. I don't watch much TV nowadays anyway, between Xbox Live!, school, surfin', etc.
