Didn't think of it until I was going through my catalogue to weed out any recent useless files and spotted these pics of our pet Sulcata (Spurred African Tortoise). His name is Lofa (pronounced Low-fah) he's 28 yrs. young, weighing in at 78lbs., he is a bulldozer, cave digger, wonderful lawnmower and wrecking machine and will probably outlive every one presently posting in this forum: edited - forgot to add warning sign.

Cool! Do you a younger generation lined up to take him when you're gone?

My kids like Lofa a lot because he's such an unique pet to have and they all know the routine to keep him happy, so I'm pretty sure they'd fight over him come time for me to take that last trip around the sun.

The most fond memory of his time with us is when he broke the latch on our backyard gate by exploiting a space that he could wedge and bulldoze himself to freedom. Well, when it came time for me to feed him some treats he was long gone and roaming the streets of the neighborhood. Took me driving and jogging around the neighborhood in a panic thinking about all the mischief he could make and get in trouble with due to his size before I found him with this really nice lady of whom by some miracle worked at a pet hospital and somewhat knew how to keep Lofa interested in her.
