The journey of angry pixies.

I could actually feel my arms tingle when I was walking around there. Was interesting to say the least. Always wanted to get a pic like this and finally decided to go out and do it. Highway 655 has lot of cool spots to get good views of the power lines.

Northern Jacana, Santa Cruz River, Tucson, AZ. This sighting (not made by me, someone posted about it so I went to check it out) is only the fifth record for the bird in Arizona with the last sighting in 2007. Its range is generally Central America up into Mexico along both coasts.

Finally got around to going through more of the pics I took a while back when I took that power line one. Was actually out to get the fall colours but power lines made for cool shots too.

Another pic of the Northern Jacana in Tucson. I did a little more reading on the bird and it is eight hundred miles out of its home range. Jacanas don't migrate and there is a lot of ground with no habitat for it between its home range and Arizona so I'm guessing that it is a local release/escape. Still, it looks quite happy where it is, at least until winter comes.

Bought a gimal head for my sony A9/200-600 lens so this is my first shot with it...so much easier (once the gimal was properly balanced) than using a ball head...especially when pointing the huge lens up towards the moon...

I should have gotten this thing a few days ago when the moon was full...shot was taken from my backyard...not to shabby considering all of light around (street lights, my outside lights, etc)...I also need to look into the whole stacking thing at some point...

Here the one I bought:

For my non-professional needs, it is exactly what I needed...

Great egret,
snowy egret,
double crested cormorant,
roseate spoonbill,
white pelicans in Gilbert, Arizona

My one critique is to bump up the exposure, then probably bring down highlights, and add a touch of contrast so we could better see their birdy faces, hahah.
