Thank you Belegost: Your macro looks intriguing. Is it ice, forming on a surface?

Also thank you zCypher Don't worry about the mesh, most people won't notice and it does not take away from the picture at all. It's just that I saw it slightly in the bokeh.

Thanks. Yes, it's actually ice crystals forming on top of the ice sheet covering a lake near my work. I like the layers in the landscape, is that natural, or was the land cut into?

Belegost: Thats a lot of yellow left for a snowed in flower. I usually only see some remnant reds (from fruit) in the snow. About the "landscape", I'm not certain. There were cut off logs, so there was certainly some cutting and chipping. They are gone now, so I can't recheck, but there are some damaged layers visible, I think the workers might have torn off the bark perhaps?

Ah, it looks like stone in the picture, I didn't realize it was wood. Yea, the flowers kept their color, the weather went suddenly from 5-8C at night to -10 - -15C in one day, I think it froze the petals before they could decay.

Thanks a lot Mike. I always enjoy photographing very colorful subjects, but they don't always play nicely with each other. Sometimes just some white or a black and white conversion works for me as well.

Caught a fox squirrel adding to his hoard this morning.

But let me first say, that your fox squirrel shot is great. Sharpness, expression and composition work together well.
