I made this animated gif today from a regular product photo. Originally brown statue on white background. Hot.

Well, I think I finally get to post a photo. Nothing special; I was out cooking some bbq chicken (I often eat late - 10pm or later) and was gazing at the sky. It's absolutely stunning tonight. Took this picture aiming directly overhead at the Milky Way:

Awwwww, c'mon. What's wrong with my jpeg, Skoorb? Size limit on pics.bbzzdd?

Nice pics Squirrel!

Attempt #27 (I've gotta get around to hosting my own pics; got the website, just haven't set it up yet)

Sorry about the size; I've gotta work on resizing in lightroom without screwing up the aspect ratio, and it was getting late.

Nice! I love night long exposure shots, it really brings out everything. Can't wait till we get another day without clouds so I can go take some more myself.

A little random one I thought of trying and it turned out pretty neat:

I took this a while back. Was going through some old pics and thought it turned out cool. I must have banged into the tripod or something.

My first attempt at Milky Way - we drove quite about 2 hours outside of city to get this.

Wish I had my camera at work the other morning, the sunrise and the clouds were pretty awesome looking at the time.

Might start taking it with me.

Spoooon I really like the composition and reflections in the car pics. Do you use a film emulation plugin or something for the colors?

Mike your kangaroo is great. Great sharpness, technique and of course expression.

Two more of mine:

Thanks Berliner! Again, digging the abstract.

No plugin. just a preset for Lightroom.

Contrast: 100
Highlights: -20
Shadows: +40
Clarity: +100

Slight S shaped tone curve, sharpening at 55, and a vignette. Then I tweak the sliders as needed.

Nice I like how you got some trees in there too.

Couple I took last night of the moon and sky. This was at around midnight.

(yes that's actually the moon)

Long exposure, like 15s or so.

From my buddy Durwood, this is a 50 sec., HD, time lapse vid of cloud movement shot on his Nikon DSLR that is awesome to begin with, but gets, ummmmm, awesomer at the 16 second mark when you see a dual level of clouds each moving in a different direction.

Well worth the download, imho.

If anyone knows how and where to host this straight up, be my guest!

I asked Durwood for some pics he showed me last night. He thought maybe they were on his Facebook (ugh) page. They weren't. But this, from out his farm house window from last February, was:
