At schools, are their computers generally networked together?

If say, i wanted to host a Worms game, would other people in the same class be able to find my game?

more than likely, yes. Considering most schools use Windows boxes for large networks, you've got a pretty good chance of getting it going. As far as ports being open and the such....that's up to the permissions set on each account and if you're even able to install software from your user level.

Could you be more vague?

Crud, i thought it would be that simple. Well, the computers are running win2k with Fortres. I should be able to get into the game, but i'm unsure about creating a "LAN game." Fortres was installed pretty recently--before then, i school didn't have any restriction programs. So hopefully they're still relatively new to the whole network restrictions thing.

If it's Win2k, have you actually tried installing the game?? You might not even have permissions.

I'm not familiar with Fortres.

fortress was easy to get around when it was designed for win95. All you had to do was edit the startup files in windows and remark (by using the ' character) out the lines. In windows 2000, it appeared to be beefier and i gave up. I wish i could help you there. Fortress is a bitch to get around on newer computers.

Oh, installing the game isn't a problem. I was playing Doom95 today :) I just have to load up the installation folder on a cd or zip disk.

For me, WA didn't even work in 2k. The game would launch, but once you go into the actual game scene, it crashes out. WA works on XP (at 640x480), and WWP works fully on XP.

If you can play over the Net I would say yes, but no over the LAN, as they wouldn't want everyone to have access to everyone else?s puter.
