The BFG LS-550 won AT's Gold Editors' Choice award, for performance and price.

Congrats, jonny and zap. Jonny, you even got a mention in there on page 6.

I think Jonny was happy with the Forepoint unit that the LS used to be, but some pressure got the LS series changed over to Enhance....from a few reviews I have read so far the Forepoint units may have tested slightly better than the Enhance units.

Nah, jonny gets all the credit for that. If you want to give me credit... something like this... or this... that's the kind of stuff I'm responsible for. 😉

Cool, looks like your job might actually be more fun (depending on your role in the project, of course). You get paid to make ridiculously modded extreme stuff. 😉

But the BFG supply tested is not the same as the LS550 for sale at NewEgg. The photo of the decal on tested unit shows a single 12 volt rail while the one at NewEgg has 4 rails. Why the difference?I need a good stable ps for my whs box and am considering one of these.

indeed nice review. i think for most average user like myself, a 500/550 will do nicely especually that i do not run sli or xfire.

Maybe it's just me, but I seem to be missing the 12V ripple shot for the HX520 over here. Is it showing up for anyone else?

The picture of the one on newegg is the old Forepoint unit. BFG has since switched to Enhance. You know newegg isn't very quick on the draw with that sort of stuff, and they may still have Forepoint units left, and they may never change the picture even if they are selling the Enhance units anyway.

With all that said the Forepoint units reviewed just as well, or better than the Enhance units. Multiple rails or single rail it doesn't matter if you like the price and performance of the LS550 then get it and it won't matter which version you get as they are both good.

I posted that in the comments as well but did not get a reply.

There are several other ripple shots missing, one of the Seasonics doesn't have any ripple shots showing.
