No link or news article for this one, just a brief (lul worthy) story.

I'll make it short and sweet because I know you ADD internet peoples don't like to read.

The VP of Human Resources got caught by a security guard last week banging the manager of HR on his office desk late one night. He then fired the guard in hopes of covering up his tracks. Guard tells wife, wife calls corporate, corporate tells board director in charge of this division, board guy comes and PERSONALLY walks VP of HR out of the building.

Oh irony.

I stopped at brief.....

kidding.

Should have asked the guard if he wanted to join so he'd be complicit.

Hasn't this guy learned ANYTHING from the countless mob and mafia and crime lord movies?

Never fire those who have dirt on you. If you are going to terminate their employment, you do it in totality, in include life... or you bribe them with money and/or power.
You only fire or chop off limbs AFTER dirt has been spilled. Not before. That just ensures it happens. Yeesh, amateurs.

49% of men's troubles are caused by booze
50% are caused by them sticking their dick in something
1% everything else

This is more a case of retribution or comeuppance than irony isn't it?

I think the irony is supposed to be in the HR part, which I sort of get. They're supposed to be the arbiters of good behavior. I'm not sure if its irony or just hypocrisy.

What about the manager of HR, did she get fired? She should have done for not reporting the VP's corrupt actions before the long way around was taken.

Security guard is sitting on a nice wrongful termination claim.
If he didn't get hired back (at a pay raise with a waiver signed) then he is looking at a nice lawsuit.

Oh irony.

That happened where I used to work, but it was some ugly trader dude and some girl.

Both ended up being fired as well.....

Because they were on work premises.
They can go get a hotel and they are fine.

No that part is not ironic; it is hypocrisy. If you're going to make a claim for irony, it would be that because of his attempt to cover up the affair, he got fired. Not really that ironic though and certainly not the definition of irony. People these days misuse the term way too much.

It's like 10,000 spoons, when all you need is a knife.
Thanks. That'll be in my head for the rest of the day.

Didn't someone post here something similar. IT guy with access to office video. The Boss banging the secretary after hours. Something about the boss couldn't find his keys the next day....

So you people can stop the bickering over the definition of irony:

iro·ny noun \ˈī-rə-nē also ˈī(-ə)r-nē\ : the use of words that mean the opposite of what you really think especially in order to be funny

: a situation that is strange or funny because things happen in a way that seems to be the opposite of what you expected

Expectation: HR people who define & enforce the rules of moral conduct should be the least likely to break said rules.
Outcome: VP and manager of HR caught boning it up in a workplace office.

Irony.

So your situation fits neither definition. How can it then be the definition of irony?

A few years ago, some wanted to argue about the meaning of karma. Just tell 'em, "Merriam Webster is my bitch and I'll use her any way I like.":p

Need to see pic of HR Manager to determine if it was worth the hypocrisy.

Whatever, it's ironic to me.

Moving on.

VP is now "suspended pending further investigation" and the manager is not in work today as far as I know. Likely also the same thing, although she's much more likely to get her job back, but likely with a demotion.

VP is likely screwed.
