Our local USPS is mandating that every residential address have a box on the street beginning 2015.

The regular USPS guy for my area is HUGE. I mean like 450+lbs. You can tell when he is the one delivering the mail and not someone else because his mail truck is lopsided.

If you're in a suburban area, at least that's understandable. It'll make mail and small package delivery faster which saves money. It's basically a cost cutting measure.

It's a perfect example of why monopolies are bad. You get lazy workers, and shitty service. Where ya gonna go if you aren't happy with the government's performance?

The postal workers around here are pretty good, The service is good, they seem to be in better shape than the average American, but not by a tremendous amount.

My Dad has emphysema with a 40' air hose and my Mom uses a walker.



Otherwise, yes. We just drive up to ours on the wrong side of the street.
