AT Gamerscore Challenge 2, Take 2

OK, we tried to get ten people in the contest for the $50 gift card, but apparently not many people here like "free" or do not wish to allow their fellow forum-goers the opportunity to win said gift card with little to no effort on their part, but hopefully we'll be able to find five this time.

Basically, whoever gains the most achievement points in a week wins the $20 gift card. For reference, the winning total in the last contest was 690 by ducci. We did have a friendly agreement that the Avatar game (1000 points in 5 minutes) was not allowed in the competition so we will be sticking with that rule.

This is an officially sponsored contest by Old Spice & Microsoft. I did not receive a single instance of spam from signing up for the first one.

EDIT2: Thanks a lot to everyone who joined. I launched the contest, it officially starts "At midnight tonight (2/16/2008 00:00 Pacific Time)", so that's when the APs should start accumulating on the challenge website. Now that we've kicked off, here's the link to the challenge page. Good luck!

Ok, I guess I'll sign up even though I won't win because I"ve pretty much got all the achievements I'm going to get for my current games (COD4/Mass Effect). But if me registering will help one of you guys get some $ I'll do it.

When do I have to sign up by?

Whenever we get five people I can "launch" the contest. So there's no deadline, but as soon as you have time is preferable. Thanks.

Ok, I'm in. I thought it would be blocked here at work, but it wasn't. Unfortunately I got 2 achievements for mass effect yesterday I guess I'll break out Vegas and beat it on realistic for the points.

Sorry, I suppose I just whine and guilt people a bit more. I haven't really poked around the website for official rules on the starting/stopping dates, would we have time to fit a 2 week ($50) one in after this ends on the 23rd?

You can hijack this thread with another contest if you want and try to get 10 again. I'll update the OP.

For those of you that missed the cutoff - sorry, it took a few days for us to just get five before so I figured once we had the five it would be relatively safe to just start it. As ducci said, there are four potential joiners now so you can almost form your own group (or join ducci's if he chooses to create a tier 2 challenge). Thanks for responding so well to the thread, I must be quite the beggar.

Hey all - so I checked out the contest site - the final date to open a Tier 2 challenge ($50, 2 weeks, 10 people), is Feb. 29. The current challenge ends Saturday, so I've created a new one now so everyone can quickly jump in once the current one ends.

The prize is a $50 Best Buy gift card.

Those of you who missed out on the current one can get in, and then on Saturday the rest of you can join up and ideally we'll be able to start it around Feb. 24/25.

2nd place in our current challenge is a person named "Grooming Monkey", but I can't seem to figure out if that's an ATer or not. They're not in the AT Gamertag list. Is it one of you guys in this thread?
