Wow. The ti4400 is owned by the 9600xt. The 9600xt gets 37fps @ 800x600 HQ, the ti4400 gets 13fps at the same settings. Does high quality turn AA on? I wouldn't have expected this large of a gap.

I have a Ti 4400 at the moment. Am waiting for hl2 benches to be released before I buy. Originally, the ATI x800 series was supposed to be better but I'm having second thoughts. If the 6800 GT is only a bit behind the x800, that's what I'll be getting.

Am i the only person who doesn't plan on buying doom? I mean, shelling out 50 bucks for a game w/ no multiplayer? (4 person doesn't count)

No your not the only one but you are in the minority here. Everyone is raving about that game and its not limited to 4 supposidly you can get 8 which isn't bad at all.

People are excited about the graphics engine, which will have dozens of games based on it released in the next 2 years.

Quake 4 anyone? I hear that might be multiplayer ;)

I'll play the demo, but it doesn't look promising. More walking and shooting. Yay. :disgust:

this doesn't look very promising:

Not all tests are without problems, and this time we experienced some issues with our 6800 Ultra Extreme part. We noticed visual artifacts as we were running our AA tests. These kept getting worse as time went on, and not even letting the card cool down would help fix the problem. Eventually, our system rebooted while we were testing and wouldn't get through another benchmark run. John Carmack has spoken of possible issues when overclocking a graphics card with Doom 3, and this may or may not have an impact on factory overclocked parts. We will absolutely keep our ears open and our test beds working to try to determine if this is just an isolated random GPU death, or if there is some other evil at work.

i hope it was just a defective card. i really wouldn't like it very much if there's a game out that causes damage to your video card, overclocked or not. it's a conspiracy!!!

I agree, the game would have a much longer "on my HD" run if it had coop, as is, as soon as it is finished, it will probably be deleteted and thrown on my shelf...I don't know why game companies don't think coop would be a good idea.

You are missing the forrest for all the trees in your way ;) They are attempting to help create selling points for the console version. You want co-op you have to settle for the console, or if their marketring works, suck you into buying it for both platforms=KA-CHING!

Actually.. there are those of us that remember a time when many games had no multi player. Personally I find it refreshing. I'm more interested in a good single player game than another multiplayer frage fest.

What are you all babling about. The MODDING community as already released a Coop mod. Go to GAF if you want more details. They have link there and everything.

Did they not test AF, or am I missing something?

The 6800 Ultra Extreme is not dying, look into Carmacks comments about video cards being overclocked for more info of what could be happening.

There are a few odd things in the review... the XT/PE gets (a lot) MORE frames at 1600x1200 versus 1024x768, with the same settings? Um... whats that all about?
