I dunno, #4 seems rather naive to think that him posting the poll on a forum of his "buddies" wouldn't leak to the internet. Obviously he had not control over the freebies that were being given away.

Not to bump this back up again but I want to set the record straight about the #4 dad. I don't think he had ANYTHING to do with what happened at the other forums whichever ones they were. I only know about the LF at this point. Anyway, he is a VERY good man and has had some VERY bad luck in his life. I did really want to see my friend win but I didn't want to start a voting war between forums to get it done, I hope that everyone who voted from here actually read the letters and based your decision on that. I would be nieve to think that happened 100% of the time but I can hope that most did actually read them. It was a GREAT contest and GREAT race up until last night when other forums got involved and the #4 parent didn't have anything to do with that other then posting it at an ATV forum he frequents for a group of people to know what was going on, from then on where the info went was out of his control and the friend of a friend effect took place. Anyway, LF is starting a fund for him to go ahead and get his bike pimped, I am actually going to do what I can even if it is just with parts that I don't need that his kid could use. If my friends son wouldn't have been able to win that boy is who I would have chosen myself, followed by #2 as that mom really cares about her kids racing and she is doing it on her own with some help from his grandpa. See I know a little about their lives and consider them friends, they are good people and maybe the people at LF are too, they had their hearts in the right place, I just really had a problem with the process they used to motivate their members. Either way it is in the past now and I hope LF can raise enough money to get #4 pimped to the max!

The #4 dad does seem like a very nice guy. I can't blame him for anything. I'm glad to see people are contributing to a runner's up fund.

As am I. Hopefully, it will happen for both of them. :) I still object to what LF's did, but I am really glad to see that they are contributing, and mabye some good can come out of this for everyone!

Good job everybody. I fell asleep with my Calculus book in hand before the deadline was up, but I felt sure we'd come through. Looks like it got close toward the end, though.

Eh, who cares what the #4 dad says? He started the whole thing by posting the contest on another board. In all fairness, djohn did the same for an even playing field. Congrats djohn. :D

That was sort of exhausting, every time #7 came within a few votes #4 always seemed to add at least one more. I'm glad that #4 will also receive a pimped-out bike, but it's even better to see that the ATOT effect is still alive and well; Congrats djohn and GJ to everyone that made it happen!

Heh, that happens to me all the time... ;)

Congrats on the AT Effect people, even if it isn't as strong as it used to be (circa 2000-2001 when I first started frequenting these forums, not posting though)
