You dont see that because your current monitor does not support it so it will not show up as a possible resolution. Once you get the monitor, you may also need to install the .inf just so your card can know your monitor can do that resolution.

Yes you do need to update the .inf for the monitor (from the CD or Windows Update), but that may not be sufficient depending on your video card. In my case (old card) I also had to manually enable the native resolution using Powerstrip.
